That wiki page is still reasonably accurate. Marcus' new page at
http://www.openoffice.org/download/full_vs_lp.html
is probably more complete though.

Hello and thank you for volunteering --

Please go to the Directory of Volunteers page --
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Directory+of+Volunteers

and use the Sign Up link in the top right corner.

Accounts for our wikis need to be whitelisted in order to be
activated. Once you supply the information needed to establish your
account, one of the administrators can activate it and you should be
able to add your volunteer information.

If you need help using the Confluence Wiki once you are logged in,
contact this list and someone can help you.

RE: Source code build help

2015-03-24 Thread Dennis E. Hamilton
Hello Buddhi,

I think Regina or Ariel may have the information you require. Also, see
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide_AOO,
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide_AOO/Step_by_step#Windows_7,
 and
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide_AOO/Building_on_Windows.

I think you have to build using CygWin and there are many dependencies to set
up.
It would be good to apply a QA view to this and help to improve the
documentation so beginners can be more successful [;). I am slow at this.
Tell me how I could help.

- Dennis

PS: I think the Windows build can be possible to use the new Visual Studio 2013
Community Edition to build, and use batch files within CygWin that can also be
used natively for command-line building. (Community Edition apparently will
not build for XP though.) But the current procedures do not support this and I
have made poor progress on that. This could be a step toward being able to
build 64-bit for Windows.

Hello Dennis,

Thanks for your support on this question as well.Yeah i can add a QA view
to this documentation.I want to clarify small thing. As i saw AOO core is
developed by C++.But i saw somewhere AOO use Java as well.Is that correct.

I can use a linux distribution such as Ubuntu. At the moment i haven't
installed a one.So i think linux environment will make this easy.I'll try
to install ubuntu.
