difficulty opening OPEN OFFICE

2016-03-14 Thread Herb Eichner
Hello Open Office;
Mon. Mar. 14/2016
I am no longer able to open “open office” on my iMac Desktop computer. My
WebBrowser is Safari. Once it was easy to do my documents work, and could copy
& past into your pages, but now when I try I am told “OpenOffice” can’t be
opened because it is from an unidentified developer.” What is this? Is there
something wrong with it? Or is it incompatible with apple or Safari? Is there
an easy fix, or do I have to find another Word program? Please advise.
Thanks; Herb Eichner of heichn...@gmail.com

Re: Open Office Writer UTTER , UTTER Rubbish (or not)

2016-03-14 Thread Kay Schenk
Apache OpenOffice does indeed have a perfectly functional
spell checker. And, of course, we are aware of the problems
for some users/systems with the spell checker on upgrades.
We have recently had a patch submitted and tested to correct
this problem. See the following BZ entry:

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126762

Hopefully, when 4.2 is released, the problem will be solved.

Can someone please pass this comment on to the
 relevant incompetent developer who created
 openoffice writer..

It has the a really obvious problem with the
 program...

IT HAS NO BLOODY SPELL CHECK!

Seriously I ask you this, what IDIOT created a doc
writer without the most fundamental function

Even when installing 4.1.2 it says its selected ,
however NO, it just doesn't work..

I will be pulling my donations and putting money
into Microsoft, where things DO work!! albeit I
 will have to pay.

Has anyone nailed getting e.g. windbg running with AOO on Windows? If
so, I have some questions.

Australian dictionary - Fixes - 2016-03-14

2016-03-14 Thread Marco A.G.Pinto
Hello!

Tom Anderson opened a case in Bugzilla about corrupted accents in words
in UTF-8 due to a bad conversion by the old maintainers.

I have tried to fix all words myself by auto-correct + proofreading
using en_GB which is the dictionary with more words.

Please check:
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126863
and tell me if you find any incorrect words in the .ZIP .

Please also advice me what I should add in the README file according to
this fix.

If all goes well, this dictionary will be updated in the next release.

Thanks!

Kind regards,
