Please read the documentation on our previous attempts to improve the build
system, so you don't repeat any of the same mistakes:
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Build_Environment_Effort

Also how does this fit with plans to advance gbuild to replace both dmake
and build.pl?

Peter reports in ;)

2017-03-06 Thread Peter Kovacs

Hello all,

I just wanted to give some feedback what I am doing.

I am working on an alternate build Application, which could replace the
Perl one. I have some features in mind like auto document generation
(prio1) and signing the endprodukt (after I have the important local
functionality of build script.). What I dream of is to beeing able to
influence the build logic in an easy stable, sane way.

I plan to support dmake and gnumake plus Ant.

I am sorry for Mechtilde, I thought my initial approach would deliver
the document generator much quicker, but I had to turn back and start
over. Was on the wrong way, now I believe I have a more promising and
fullfilling approach.

I will be less active on the list in the next month or so. Which I think
is hopefully beneificial for us all :)

All the best

Peter

Yeah, I will see if there's anyone here that can help out. It might not happen
very quickly though, and in general we support just the hosting and not the
Drupal/PHP code. But we want OpenOffice to keep on doing great, so I'll see if
we can provide any extra help.

Who has an admin login to the templates site? I think adding more admins is the
first step, so people can try to check the permissions & metadata on the bad
template entries.

Once someone starts to dig into the code, my general debugging approach would be
to grep the codebase for "Access Denied" and "If you were looking for a
Template, this means it is no longer available." etc to see what triggers that
error message. I also wonder if the codebase is in git anywhere?

Yea, as I found out, the shell access is reserved to infra committers.

OK, but what did you want to do? I mean, shell access is not granted
since it is assumed that we can do everything we need without needing
it. So if you wanted to help with buildbots you should be able to do it
immediately with your current privileges.

I just want to make sure that I have proper access if there is something.
I believed that we can have shell access. But I was wrong. So never mind.
