I have marked the page with the Outdated Template. If an obsolete
template is needed I can add one.

@Greg M

you might want to subscribe to the bug I have linked.

@all

Have checked some possible duplicates. Found none for writer.

Hope I got the Issue right. (I am only the messenger)

Following Testers wanted to test:

Michael: Windows; Ubuntu

Occurence was on Debian.

@ Michael

I havent entered your bug, yet.

Should I or do you want to have the honor?

Maybe we can build some minimized test doc unrelated to your original.

All the best

The final destination for all these reports should be a Bugzilla
issue, with relevant files attached. There we can also discuss whether
this is a regression with respect to 4.1.3 or earlier versions. Peter,
will you be opening it? Thanks!

This depends on what you want to do.

If you want to check out (and commit) source code, you don't need shell
access and https://openoffice.apache.org/source.html contains
everything, as Dave explained.

If you want shell access to the people.apache.org machine or
home.apache.org machine, I think (not sure) they have now been
deprecated even though you will probably find outdated guides around.
The former is going to be decommissioned (but it might still be active),
the latter is now SFTP-only.

Can anybody restore the forum database to yesterday status?
Database backups for https://forum.openoffice.org/ are managed by
Infra, since we use a shared cluster. CCing the Infra list. I assume
we will coordinate through a JIRA ticket to restore the status of
the database at the last backup we had when the incident happened
(can you be more precise about date and time?), but at least Infra
is informed that those backups must be kept.

An important note: if I recall correctly, we have several forum
installations (one per language) sharing the same database. Please
let's coordinate, since restoring the old database is not a solution
(it would restore the Hungarian forum but also delete recent
activity from all other forums). I think we will need to only filter
tables with a certain prefix.

Infra would need to know exactly what point in time this occurred
(UTC) and what objects would need to be restored. There is a
forumooo_hu database which is the likely target for restoration.
Please include those details in an infra Jira ticket.

My only Ubuntu machine is a small, aging laptop not suitable for
development work. If it is an Ubuntu-only problem, debugging it will
need the involvement of at least one Ubuntu-using developer.

It would be interesting if the bug shows up in Lubuntu or Kubuntu too.
Maybe it's just GTK related. This would make since since we have a change
in GTK with the GTK Fix.

Or reported on the QA mailing list?

AOO RC2 under Windows 7 x64 does not crash with the sample document following
the steps described by Greg.

Maybe this is a Ubuntu only problem?

I would be interested to test it on Windows and Ubuntu.

Also, as it happens in Writer it could be related to the other bug.

Long time user, have all my forms for my work created with Writer as

RC-2 has introduced some unstable behavior. Create a 10x34 row/column
table. I use 4 different styles on my table, modify the styles first.

Select some cells, use "merge cells" apply style to new cell(s)

Writer crashes..disappears with no error message. Restart the recovery
process is working. Sometimes it crashes during the cell selection
process, other times with the "merge cell" button. sometimes quickly
some slowly, but a crash occurs.

Hope this is helpful, the current version works perfectly..thank you,
would like to help make the next release as reliable.

setting up ssh access

2017-08-30 Thread Peter Kovacs

Hi all,

I try to setup ssh access.

I found this side in our wiki, which sounds quite out dated:

Do we still use DSA encryption?

And the list d...@tools.openoffice.org
is this still true?

Which one is the right one?

All the best
