OK. So this means that this entire thread (that was sent to all Apache
projects) does not apply to us in itself. Changes are coming only for
projects using git-wip-us.apache.org.

Before we switch from SVN to GitBox/GitHun for our main repository we will need
to understand how to do the hooks to Bugzilla issues. I will use the setup of a
Git repository for the Forum setup to figure that out.

Do we have the hooks from SVN?

It's the Bugzilla bot mentioned in my latest message about MWiki VM
migration. It used to run on the old MWiki VM and it must still be
ported to the new MWiki VM (ideally tomorrow).

Meanwhile we can get a sense from the Dev teams when they would want to switch
early next year.

This is an entirely separate issue. I mean, this discussion is about
infrastructural changes for projects using the server named
git-wip-us.apache.org (OpenOffice is not).

Deciding whether and how to use Git is independent of changes to that
specific server.

  Andrea.

The LCID may help with compatibility but it is not a strict requirement.
It is more important to know whether you have some officially assigned
ISO code. Does such a code exist?

It would be appreciated if you can provide us with an advice on how to
proceed to add this extension to your extensions list.

Actually, adding a language is done in the main OpenOffice code (and you
will need a new OpenOffice release for it). Once a language has been
added that way, you can create an extension to provide spell-check for
documents in your language. You can also translate the entire OpenOffice
UI into your language if you wish.

Localization issues are generally discussed on the l10n list:

Please make sure you subscribe to the relevant mailing lists or you will
miss answers.

You can use Github directly or Gitbox directly, git.a.o would no longer be
involved. (And does not need to be)

Adding a new language

2018-12-08 Thread Yousef Qursha
Dear Sir/ Madam

I would like to add a new OpenOffice extension that can check the spelling
for "Kabardian Language".
The problem is that currently the language is not supported by Windows; not
having a locale or a language code for input. Furthermore they rejected a
request to get a LCID for the language.
It would be appreciated if you can provide us with an advice on how to
proceed to add this extension to your extensions list.

Best regards,
Y. Qursha
