Re: drop ressources (stlport, maybe beanshell)
Maybe I was not clear enough. beanshell we use is unmaintained and very old. A potential successor is in Apache-Commons. I am investigating. Without a valid successor we will not drop. In doubt we have to adopt and maintain. But I dont thionk so. I already found the vote in Apache Common to integrate beanshell. I just could not find it, with my tomato eyes :) Am 25.04.20 um 07:37 schrieb Mechtilde: Hello, I want to brint to attention that we can use BEANSHELL for writing Macros. drop ressources (stlport, maybe beanshell)
Hello all, I would like to remove stlport from code. We already build without it, and no one is using it. We have a Repository system for managing old code. We do not need to carry stuff we do not use. Another potential candidate to get Rid of is beanshell. I am looking into it, the project moved to Apache Commons. Java 11 and 42X Code
I try to build the AOO42X Code with Java jdk 11. I see depreciated warning in hsqldb [javac] /home/legine/workspace/AOO/gitcmp/main/hsqldb/unxlngx6.pro/misc/build/hsqldb/src/org/hsqldb/jdbc/jdbcResultSet.java:755: warning: [dep-ann] deprecated item is not annotated with @Deprecated [javac] public BigDecimal getBigDecimal(int columnIndex, Should we go for an update? (Maybe also needed in trunk, have not checked.) And in beanshell I get The -source switch defaults to 1.9 in JDK 1.9. If you specify -target 1.5 you now must also specify -source 1.5. Ant will implicitly add -source 1.5 for you. Please change your build file. warning: [options] bootstrap class path not set in conjunction with -source 5 error: Source option 5 is no longer supported. Use 6 or later. error: Target option 1.5 is no longer supported. Use 1.6 or later. This is fixed in trunk. Should we move the beanshell code from trunk to AOO42X? It would also pull changes in 266 Files if we pull them. (I have not reviewed the changes) maybe someone has an advise? Fwd: Copyrights for works created using Open Office
In addition to Rory's positive answer shown below. The reason you do not see any mention of any copyright or restriction on works created with Apache OpenOffice software, is that no such copyrights or restrictions exist. Being FOSS (Free Open Source Software) Apache OpenOffice does not place any limitations or restrictions on what a user may or may not use the software for. -- Please address any reply to us...@openoffice.apache.org only. Copyrights for works created using Open Office
To Whom It May Concern: I've been looking for an alternative to the (costly) Microsoft Office Suite of products and I'm very impressed by the Apache Software Foundation's vision and range of products. I'm trying also to be a conscientious user by carefully reading your software licenses and FAQs before I download. Perhaps this is an obvious question (certainly I can infer the answer from your organization's manifestos), but I haven't found it stated explicitly anywhere on your websites: does Open Office make any claims to the copyrights of a work created with it? That is to say, if I wrote a screenplay using Writer, do I retain full copyrights? I've already read the Apache License 2.0 document, the license statement for Open Office, as well as the FAQs on both pages and I understand the rights pertaining to use of the software, but I don't see any mention of copyrights for works created with it. Usually (as with Google Docs, for example) there is a page listing Terms and Conditions that answers these questions. Can you please direct me to that page? And may I suggest adding it to the Open Office FAQs or License statement? Thanks for your time, *Jasmine Kanter* 519.702.5666 | jasminekan...@gmail.com

I have a patch here to update AOO 4.2's version of Python to the latest (perhaps last) release in that line: http://people.apache.org/~pfg/patches/patch-python-2.17.diff This is a remake of the previous update that I had made for cpython-2.16, but which no one tested ! I currently lack an AOO setup with git so please someone else will have to test and commit. On the near term, we really should update to Python 3, but that will be challenging for the build system since it requires a newer version of the MS compiler. Building with an external python is also currently broken for python versions >= 3.6. Re: Issue in vbahelper
I have not seen an error in filter. I had issues in, but not posted to the list: = Building module scripting = and = Building module sc = restart did work around all issue except on Cui. There I commented the problematic build lines, and the build went on. I have now a test version, guild finished some minutes ago. I think the quality is enough for testing the python module. I would suspect then some error in the dependency logic, which strengthen my whish for less logic in build file, more generators. Basically more KISS during build.
