Gav,

Thank you.

I verified the signature using gpg in Powershell:

gpg --verify .\apache-ant-1.9.16-bin.zip.asc
gpg: assuming signed data in '.\\apache-ant-1.9.16-bin.zip'
gpg: Signature made 7/10/2021 1:52:36 PM Eastern Daylight Time

gpg:issuer "bode...@apache.org"
gpg: Good signature from "Stefan Bodewig " [unknown]
gpg: aka "Stefan Bodewig " [unknown]
gpg: aka "Stefan Bodewig " [unknown]
gpg: WARNING: The key's User ID is not certified with a trusted signature!
gpg: There is no indication that the signature belongs to the owner.
Primary key fingerprint: CE80 75A2 5154 7BEE 249B C151 A211 5AE1 5F6B 8B72

In particular, I was wondering about the warning:

gpg: WARNING: The key's User ID is not certified with a trusted signature!
gpg: There is no indication that the signature belongs to the owner.

Thanks,
Kelly

KEYS files for most projects should be available for verification at
https://downloads.apache.org/$PROJECT/KEYS

So for example, Ant project can be found at

Apache Ant verified signature

2022-11-27 Thread Kelly Hodis
Hello,

I'm building AOO using Cygwin on Windows 10 and am installing Ant.

I tried with version 1.10 from the AOO build page but ended up needing to
provide a build file. After messing around with that I discovered that I didn't
have the correct version of Java, which the AOO page says is Java 8. So I'm
retrying with Ant v 1.9.

With that said, does anyone have a source for verified keys from apache.org
developers? The SHA512 checksum was correct, but the PGP signature I used for v
1.9 could not be verified and I used the KEYS file from the linked git site on
the AOO build page.

Thanks,
Kelly
