Hello, it's bot false. What I'm not a big fan of is that an extension is
complicated to install and it's not part of the software. I propose to add,
on the AOO installation wizard, a button "Activate Wikimedia Commons to
Apache OpenOffice".

I do not see making two versions as a viable alternative. It would be
double the work for those that build the releases, as well as double the
the work for QA, as both versions have to be checked separately.

In my opinion your idea is better off as an extension that people can
use if they have the need.

Welcome Ahmed,

We can use your interest in PHP and also C++. From my point of
view
you
decide where to dive into.

If you want to look at OpenOffice directly, I suggest you start
with
building OpenOffice on your favourite plattform.

We help you with that.

The second Option is to help with our add ons. We need to check
if
some
of our wikimedia modules run with the latest Wikimedia.

If so, that would be great.

As Dave said. If you need anything, just ask. :-)

I am looking forward of hearing of you.

All the best

Hello,
It would potentially be possible to offer two versions of AOO, the
Lite/Offline and a basic version with "Commons to AOO". And we may be able,
on the version with Commons in the Gallery, to put a message "Uh! You are
not connected to Internet, please connect you to access to Commons to AOO"
when the user dont have any connection.
What do you think?

Hello,
I think that making my proposal an extension of AOO is a bad idea, I rather
thought that it should be part of the software because the problem of an
extension is that it does not install automatically.

This is a question of distribution. Languages are an extension too. We
offer preinstalled versions.

So why remove this ability from your suggestion?

How do we handle installations that are disconnected or have a slow
connection?

And How can we Change Extensions that they are more accessible to users?

  Moreover, this could
improve the gallery to make it much more interesting and complete, with an
almost infinite choice of images, illustrations, icons and even audio files
available for everyone. The fact that it is not an extension will make AOO
more interesting and useful compared to before and other software such as
LibreOffice.

I agree the feature will improve the gallery.

Yes, an extension would be the better way.

It could be released independent from any AOO version. Honestly, we are
struggling for years to get 4.2.0 out. :-(

And we need to think about how we enable users to use extensions and
fix some bugs around the issue.

There are issues for AOO41X on macOS, I think. Personally I cannot even
install a new dictionary...

What do you think ? I'm aware that it's not going to be super simple
but if
you're ok, I'll try to contact Wikimedia Commons developers. And for the
