Yes, and I agree that registration should be advertised in a clear way
on the homepage.

The current BZ entry page [1] is full of information (including the
wrong email address reported by John Silver).

I suggest this link should also be added below the search box,
before the "Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla User's Guide" link.

Exactly. That’s why I want consensus before the request.

[2] Should point to [1]. [1] should be edited to remove discussion of “create”
an account.

[2] is about filing a bug while [1] is about the bug tracker ...

Bugzilla - two requests

2022-06-05 Thread Czesław Wolański
Hi,

Windows 11 was first released in October 2021.
Maybe the time has come to add Windows 11 to the list of operating systems?

For the time being I have no right to modify e.g. the "Latest Confirmation
in" field.
Can it be changed, please?

Best regards,
Czesław

While browsing through Bugzilla I sometimes find issues that were fixed
in a certain release without knowing that an issue existed. Then I
change them to FIXED and set the milestone accordingly,

They do show up in the list now. This does not happen very often, but I
am OK with that.

So it seems the list_id may be a saved result, meaning if something
happens to an issue that would change the search result list it would
not be updated when using the list_id in a URL.
You have to do a new search or not include the list_id in the URL to get
the current results.

At least that is the way I'm understanding it.

Now my questions is:
When we provide a URL like this in a release blog post or announcement
should we do a new search and use the list_id in the URL so we have a
snapshot in time or

not include it so each user gets an up-to-date result?

For example, if an issue is changed from fixed to reopened, do we want
that issue to appear in the list after that or not?

It might be easier on the database if we use the list_id at release time
so everyone that follows the link isn't creating a new entry as long as
we're okay with the snapshot in time list.

as we present a software release which is fix when published, so it
cannot be changed afterwards, I would prefer to deliver a list of its
issues which is also fixed. So, let's include (and just keep) the URL
paramter.

Bugzilla list_id parameter in URL question

2022-04-21 Thread Carl Marcum

Hi All,

Does anyone know what the list_id parameter is for in the URL after a
search?

For example:

If I do an advanced search for issues fixed in 4.1.12 milestone I get
this for a URL:

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/buglist.cgi?list_id=249822_format=advanced=FIXED=FIXED_WITHOUT_CODE_milestone=4.1.12

If I do it again I get a different list_id.
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/buglist.cgi?list_id=249823_format=advanced=FIXED=FIXED_WITHOUT_CODE_milestone=4.1.12

If I remove it like this and use it:
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced=FIXED=FIXED_WITHOUT_CODE_milestone=4.1.12
I get a new list_id again.
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/buglist.cgi?list_id=249824_format=advanced=FIXED=FIXED_WITHOUT_CODE_milestone=4.1.12

If I reuse a previous one with the list_id it stays the same.

Are these result lists stored in the database or something?

Best regards,
Carl

ah OK, but then it would be better to just ask what the process looks
like and what will happen for the user.

Here is the process:

When a request is coming to sysadmin@ we check for which tool the
request is (the mail address is also used for others) and which name and
mail address. If this not clear we ask and wait for the answer.

So, when users wish to have an acount for BZ, they should write:
- that it is for Bugzilla
- which mail address should be used as login name
- and their real name

When we have the information, we create a new BZ account and give a
response on sysadmin@, so all admins knows.

The account details incl. the password will be send to the user only.
And with the request to change it with first login.

That's it. I hope this helps. :-)

Yes, a few years passed in the meantime and indeed now CentOS 7 would be
a better choice than CentOS 6, with maintenance guaranteed until June 2024.

Of course it doesn't have to be CentOS, but for sure CentOS 6 doesn't
make sense any longer; I think we can just close the issue.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for the quick response and explanation.
And for the word "funky". I was looking for something "eye-catching" to be
put in my mail's subject
and failed (hence "abundance of ...").

That’s really funky. Pages in those iframes need to be moved from the content
tree to the assets tree. I missed that in the site migration.

content/documentation/online_help/helpauthoring/HelpAuthoring_ind-passthru.html
To
assets/documentation/online_help/helpauthoring/HelpAuthoring_ind-passthru.html

content/documentation/online_help/helpauthoring/HelpAuthorings-passthru.html
To
assets/documentation/online_help/helpauthoring/HelpAuthorings-passthru.html

Any committer can do this.

The Jenkins build jobs have been restored.

Hi,

1. Bugzilla, home page

Link provided in the last item of "NOTES" section: "(...) DO read the bug
submission guidelines at

2. AOO Understanding and Authoring OpenOffice 2.0 Online Help

I believe our old (and I don't know how old!) configuration was using
these settings:

https://www.bugzilla.org/docs/2.18/html/components.html

"The Owner, QA Contact, and Reporter will get email when new bugs are
created in this Component and when these bugs change. Default Owner and

Now, I've never administered Bugzilla so I have no idea where one can

thanks for the hint. In the BZ version we are using it's still possible
to set a default assignee.

However, also here everything is as it should. Every component has
issues@ as default assignee.

You are right, and this should be fixed.

I believe that the issues mailing list is meant to receive notifications
for any bug changes. But it seems the latest changes to

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126369
(which was assigned to me even if Matthias did the work... thank you!)
were not sent to the issues list:
https://lists.apache.org/list.html?iss...@openoffice.apache.org:2020-12

If I recall correctly, we relied on a "trick" that would set the "QA
contact" field for any new issues to the issues mailing list. Even if
the assignee is changed, the "QA contact" is not reset and this meant
the issues list received all notifications.

But I don't see it set even for issues recently created such as

Is there any Bugzilla configuration that must be fixed?

Is it possible to keep iss...@openoffice.apache.org in the loop?

I keep my overview of bugzilla through that mailinglist.

If you just assig the issue to you I think we will not receive any
notifications, and at least for me who does work on having an overview,
the issue drops out of my scope.

I am also fine if there is some sort of notification where the Issue is now.

if added to the following BZ groups:

This should give you full access about BZ issues.

If possible, the version tag 4.1.9 should also be added.

The "Target Milestone" can already be set to 4.1.9.

However, the tag for "Version" and "Last Confirmation in" is needed (and
actually) created when the release is published.

+1.

1. Bugzilla Issue 95320 (now partly obsolete) provides examples of "The

I presume by "descriptions" you mean that "untitled" (EN) and/or
"unbenannt" (DE) appear
in comments in the code. If at dev@ there is common understanding that
a default name of a new document shall be "Untitled X" then a space is
required before the number X.

Indubitably you misunderstood my point (probably others at dev@ team
too...) and I do apologize for that.
For some time now I've been working on a non-uniform labelling issue in AOO
User Interface.
The problem of "Untitled" is related to this non-uniformity and has
*nothing* to do with "UntitledX" vs "Untitled X".

For any new document - be it "Untitled 1", "Untitled 2" and so on -
in 'File > Properties > "General" tab', one sees "Untitled" in the
read-only text field.
IMHO this is not the best way to inform the user that a name for the
document is not determined yet.
I prefer MS Word 2010 approach: nothing is displayed in the text field
(empty string)
and no relevant image is shown for the file type.

Image file with relevant screenshots from AOO Writer and MS Word 2010
is available at the following link:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xAIHiySoEbzbVRlcXl-z86lq7RCcKx1i/view?usp=sharing

Other proposals for a string in question would be e.g. "(unknown)",
"[none]", "-None-" - and here comes
the above mentioned issue of non-uniformity.

P.S.
By "HTH" I mean, of course, "Hope that Helps"
and not an acronym made from the title of an AC/DC song. ;‑)

2020-07-27 Thread Hyeon Lee
Hello,
I am working on some bugs mentioned before, and I have some questions:

1. There are some descriptions about the “untitled” or “unbenannt” documents in
the code, but there is no consistency whether to put a space before the number.
What should be the correct one?

2.

changing untitled into untitled #

Please tell more about where the untitled problem happens, in bugzilla. I think
untitled problem should be fixed manually in every code.

Since it looks like different type of bug with #90, I will create a new pull
request after refinement.

ps. Is there a way to use aoo bugzilla? I think it needs an account but i think
I cannot make it on the webpage.

OK I think there is a mistake in GetTitle function:( It seems that adding a
space before this line works.

https://github.com/apache/openoffice/blob/trunk/main/sfx2/source/doc/objmisc.cxx#L999

   ```cxx
   // add this line
I took over the logic from https://github.com/apache/openoffice/blob/trunk/main/sw/source/ui/utlui/navipi.cxx#L1217
But since I am not a coder, I am not sure if that is enough. A test build on Windows was successful and did show the (inactive) entries.
