starts automatically when you start your computer so that launching
OpenOffice will appear to happen more quickly. Since it is running,
OpenOffice is still on your computer. What leads you to think that
OpenOffice has disappeared?

You do not say what operating system you are using, so I will guess it is
Windows. If you have a Windows Start button (typically at the lower left of
your screen), click that and select All Programs. Scroll down the list that
appears until you see a folder called OpenOffice 4.1.2. Click on that and
then click on the component of OpenOffice you want to start.

I get so far when a message pops up ans tells me to turn off quickstart 
for 4.1.2 and I do not know what this is   I do not have any part of the 
open office on the laptop that works and till I sort this out I can 
access none of my files.
