Hi,
I have been struggling for a while to install Mapnik. I am hoping someone can
point me in the right direction for why I am getting the errors I am getting.
Or, can someone perhaps point me to a different way to install Mapnik, if
possible (an RPM maybe?). If I am posting in the

I'm trying to create the osm postgre db with db:migrate. The process fails.

Sorry, don't know about your specific errors. You used completely
different options than those mentioned in the wiki.
I did follow these Instructions and it worked.

Hi,
I have a somewhat broken mod_tile setup and before I fire up some
heavy debugging gear I thouhgt I'd ask if maybe someone has seen a
similar situation.
mod_tile takes an incoming request, issues a proper rendering request,
has the tile rendered, receives the response, finds the tile

For the record - the situation described here arises if you have your

Glad to hear the responses.
Please also take the possibility into account to draw your yown points,

Hi guys,
The spam on users' diaries and users' pages is getting quite annoying. Some
user just now flooded the main diary page with drug ads. Using rel=nofollow
is apparently not much of a deterrent.
I think one really effective way of dealing with this is to reject addition

Hello!
During my work on libosmscout I had the (obvious) idea to test the various
implementation aspect of my library against or (or multiple) defined *.osm

This would have included testing for functionality like rendering things
like bridges, tunnels, layers and symbols but also routing

Hello Tim,
This is my routing test file:
http://trac.openstreetmap.org/browser/applications/rendering/gosmore/routingTest.osm
It consists of 3 parts (foot, bicycle and motorcar).
The best route from West to East will route along the outside. The
northern part of the motorcar part tests advanced
Hi Scott,
The error you are seeing is related to Boost.Python, and you'll likely
need to recompile the 'boost_python' library before continuing to try
to install Mapnik.
Essentially what is happening is that boost python is compiling
against different python development headers than the
I was playing with Gource / git-svn and made animations of the entire
history of the OpenStreetMap website (the rails_port) and JOSM from a
SVN-Git conversion. Here they are:

Dane and Stephan, Thank you very much for your responses.
Dane, I will try to rebuild boost per your suggestion and make sure I have the
correct python development headers. I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks,
Scott
