Found some at http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Detect_Vandalism#Tools. I guess this is what you referred to as 'tools'. > The second thing is that personally I have a bit of a problem with the word > "vandalism" to describe what most of these tools do, since most of the data > problems that people looking for data anomalies find aren't really vandalism > at all but mistakes of one form or another (for example, only today someone > noticed that a particular building had been uploaded 26 times by accident). > There are exceptions (politically motivated renamings is an example of a > problem that OSM's Data Working Group[4] deals with), but actual vandalism > is thankfully rare. Okay, so not considering vandalism alone and taking in account other anomalies that occur when users edit and update maps, I would shift my focus to anomaly detection. > > What I'd also do is try and get a feel for adding data to OSM yourself - try > and map things in your local area, if you haven't already. I will add data to OSM and see how things work for a clearer picture. I would like to know the progress of OSM Anomaly Detection project. I understand it is to detect anomalies in the OSM data. In one email (back in 2012), I read that it has been abandoned. But it came up again in 2015 (GSoC). After knowing the current status, I would like to start working on this project. Re: [OSM-dev] OpenStreetMap Carto release v2.43.0
Congrats to the sysadmin team on that. This will enable a lot of improvements to the default style and is a big step forward! That's great! If you're on a HTTPS site, and access a HTTP resource, browsers will not send a HTTP referer. Those instructions have http:// links. The simplest solution would probably be to change the URLs in those documents to htts://{s}.tile.blah Then it will work fine with HTTP and HTTPS hosted web pages. Or just protocol relative links as //{s}.tile.blah indeed, but thanks for explaining. Hopefully the switch2osm maintainers will be able to make that edit. This release will likely be deployed next weekend once the third tile server has been upgraded.
