I'd like to kick off a discussion of whether or not it is feasible to
bump the kafka version used by OpenWhisk from 0.10.2.1 to 0.11.0.
My immediate motivation is that there is a new admin client API (
org.apache.kafka.clients.admin.*) that supports programmatically creating
and deleting topics. This would be a nice feature to have for the dynamic
invoker registration PR and more broadly for supporting elastic pools of
invokers and for deploying OpenWhisk on Kubernetes (it would allow us to
move the topic creation logic out of ansible and into the
controller/invoker code).
