Oh yeah the quick install from
http://predictionio.incubator.apache.org/install/install-linux/ didn't work
for me before too.
On OS X, only option 4 from bin/install.sh works.
I am trying this on Fedora now.

Yes, I've tested all 4 options on Debian and Ubuntu, though someone else
sanity checking that couldn't hurt. Suneel tested on OS X and found only 1
of the 4 worked (any Mac folks out there, please contribute fixes for the
others, though maybe not for this release).

(this is on a Mac) and it wouldn't work, possible that it was midnight
