Extracted, built, installed manually (with HBase / ElasticSearch / local fs
configured in pio-env.sh), start script works, status works, sbt tests pass.

Had low system entropy which caused fail on `pio app new X`, but per
@Donald suggestion, installing haveged resolved it.

standard lifecycle of pio build - train - deploy works (tested on a custom
template)
