RE: [DISCUSSION] Next Pulsar release

2017-11-01 Thread Nozomi Kurihara
Hi All,

I will start to prepare for the next 1.21 release and the target date is 11/15.

Please let me know If there are changes that should be included or the date
seems unreasonable.

Thanks,
Nozomi

That's great that YJ is going to drive 1.21. But we would still need one
dev as the Release Manager, who will need to get the personal key verified
.

I think so too.

If there are no objections, Yahoo! Japan pulsar team would like to be a release
manager for the next release.

件名: [DISCUSSION] Next Pulsar release

Hi all,

since we have released pulsar-1.20.0-incubating, a lot of fixes have been
committed.
Though we don't have many new features, some of the fixes or improvements
are significant and I think it would be good to create a release so that
people trying out Pulsar won't encounter them.

In particular, I'm thinking of :
 * Enhancements to Kafka API wrapper to have it work with Kafka's own
benchmark tools
 * Fix to C++ partitioned consumer client
 * Several fixes and improvements related to the namespace bundles

Even though it's mostly fixes, I think it would still make sense to call
the release 1.21.0 rather than 1.20.1.

My opinion would be to close the 1.21 soon (~1week timeframe). Please
propose any changes that you think should get included.

Thoughts? Anyone wants to volunteer as a release manager?

Matteo
