I started toying with serve/servlet, and was caught for a bit by:

On my ten-year-old PPC Mac running OS 10.4.11, the dmg opens
successfully and contains two folders, one of which appears to be a

I did not mean the installation process itself - there it is, as you say, very
common to drag something manually into the Application folder. It is only
uncommon in my experience that the "something" which is dragged and installed
is a folder and not an application. The example in the Apple doc
Thank you for checking.
I think something like that may be useful in a future release, but I
disagree that this is an uncommon way to install applications on the mac.
My experience suggests that it is the most common way to install apps.
Also, Apple says the same thing; see page 16, third paragra
Works and looks good on my MacBook (Mac OS X 10.8.2)!
The only thing is that it is bit unusual to install/move a folder into
Applications. E.g., Mathematica installs everything in a package connected to
the graphical Mathematica binary (starts when double-clicking on the icon). All

Dear all: we have a new .dmg layout setup for the mac os x version of

Although I think that very short version is sufficient, the following
summary provides a few more details if you prefer:

After re-reading the docs about `on-demand-callback' in `menu%', I now see
that Unity handles things in a weird way, so Unity is quite probably the
source of the problem here.
I've modified the script menu so that it does not use `on-demand-callback'
anymore (which forces the user to click on "Relo
