It deployed a lot of artifacts before hitting this error. I don't see
anything special with this artifact. So, I am guessing that it was a
momentary bad connection that caused this.

The maven error message explicitly says this:

 [exec] [INFO] [ERROR] After correcting the problems, you can resume
the build with the command

 [exec] [INFO] [ERROR]   mvn  -rf
:Jewel-Light-NoFlat-Primary-Sunflower-Theme

Re: ***UNCHECKED*** Re: [Discuss] Start release process 0.9.3

2018-10-03 Thread Alex Harui
Hi Om,

Does anything deploy, or is that the first thing that is attempted to deploy?
I found this article that might help:
https://community.apigee.com/questions/50756/unable-to-deploy-using-maven-script-due-to-error-r.html

I would be concerned about restarting from the middle of a Maven call. I
suppose you could try it, but what if it skipped an artifact?

There should be Ant targets for starting only on royale-asjs if royale-compiler
and royale=typedefs worked ok.

HTH,

Not sure if this is an easy change?

Thanks,
Om

It would be hard to make this happen. I think all artefacts are spread
across target folders and local caches. When artefacts is build I'm not
sure from where Maven is taking it - Cache or Targets folder.

You are almost done with that. If you won't succeed till Monday maybe I
will try to find some time again next week.

Re: ***UNCHECKED*** Re: [Discuss] Start release process 0.9.3

2018-10-03 Thread OmPrakash Muppirala
Another suggestion I have is - can we do all the pushes to remote after
everything is done locally? That way, if something goes wrong halfway, we
can just delete the royale-* dirs locally and rerun the releasecandiate ant
script?

Not sure if this is an easy change?

Thanks,
Om

I am guessing it is a bad internet connection. I am wondering if we can

Re: Migrating Enterprise Flex Application

2018-10-03 Thread Alex Harui
Hi,

Royale doesn't currently support resource bundles. It is on my list of things
to investigate to see how hard it will be to support it. The main challenge is
that resource bundles are pre-compiled ABC code and we really want the raw
strings.

Royale does have a different, lightweight sub-system for handling localized
strings.You can see an example in manualtests/LocaleTest.

If you want to wait to see if we can support resource bundles, I think if you
comment out all [ResourceBundle] metadata in your code you can get past this
error (of course, at runtime the calls to get resources won't work).

The file containing compile output with the error message is attached. Can
you help me in understanding the error message and resolving it? The mxml
used to have the reference to the the Resource File ( in the compile error

no luck. The components used in the mxml file has been compiled to swc
library containing the js output and used in the compile command. Thank you
for your help.

I agree that it would be great to make it easier to use Node. There are some
sticking points currently. To answer your points:

1. Yes. It’s kind of similar in that it declares dependencies and optionally
build tasks. Although there’s not necessarily a build step at all in Node.js.
It’s worth pointing out that there are some new developments on the Node
dependency front (besides Yarn and Turbo).[1]

2a) This is a problem. You’d either used untyped variables or create Typedefs.
I’d really like to get support for Typescript definition files directly some
day. Most popular nom packages have Typescript definition files.

2b) Linking is done using require(). This “just works” as long as the node
modules are installed. Some tooling for debugging and releasing would probably
be helpful though.

2018-10-03 Thread Carlos Rovira
Ok! publishing! :)

While I publish I want to do share some thoughts I had today with friends
that use Node. They say that we need to make it as easy as possible to work
with Node since today is what front end devs use. So it's a must for us to
succeed in the current JS world. So tow things:

1.- package.json :  I assume that this is like build.xml or pom.xml. And
people expect to add JS libraries and those ones could bring other
dependencies as well. For me this is in the Node world and in Royale we
don't need to do more.

2.- Once we have a node dependency downloaded in our local repo, we need to
be able to use easily. Two things comes to my mind here:
   a) how we use the code directly in AS3 for a node library
   b) how we link the library and it's dependencies quickly (until now
we link via inject, from a CDN, but that's not what a node dev expect)

hope you could share thoughts about this process to discover if we cover it
completely or we have black spots.

thanks

Without seeing your source, I’d guess the problem is related to the locale you

Re: Migrating Enterprise Flex Application

2018-10-03 Thread chembali
I am trying to compile a simple mxml file to js using mxmlc. Here is the mxml
fie.

http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009;

xmlns:ss="com.infogix.iitap.component.scheduler.view.*"

xmlns:uipanel="com.infogix.iitap.component.flexuiplatform.controls.panel.*"

xmlns:uicore="com.infogix.iitap.component.flexuiplatform.core.*"

xmlns:uiactions="com.infogix.iitap.component.flexuiplatform.core.action.*"

xmlns:sactions="com.infogix.iitap.component.scheduler.action.*"
 title="scheduler"
 recordCount="2"
 helpUrl="ContextHelp/manage_scheduler_c.htm"
>

Here is the commnd that I am using to compile.

C:\devenv\GitHub\apache-royale-0.9.3\royale-asjs\js\bin\mxmlc
-load-config=C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\Components\IVPSolution\build/resources/flex/royale-config.xml
-compiler.locale=en_US
-compiler.source-path=C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\Components\Scheduler\src-flexui
-compiler.source-path=C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\Components\Scheduler/res-flexui/locale/{locale}
-compiler.js-library-path+=C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\solution-build\deflex\flexuiplatformroyale.swc
-compiler.js-library-path+=C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\solution-build\deflex\flexuiplatform-asset.swc
-compiler.js-library-path+=C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\solution-build\deflex\rulesmgmtroyale.swc
-compiler.js-library-path+=C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\solution-build\deflex\schedulerroyale.swc
-compiler.js-library-path+=C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\solution-build\deflex\baseroyale.swc
-output=C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\components\IVPSolution\build\flex\SchedulerListApp.swf
--
C:\devenv\ivp\deflex\Components\Scheduler\src-flexui\com\infogix\iitap\component\scheduler\view\SchedulerListView.mxml

The file containing compile output with the error message is attached. Can
you help me in understanding the error message and resolving it? The mxml
used to have the reference to the the Resource File ( in the compile error
). But I deleted the reference hoping that the compile would be success. But
no luck. The components used in the mxml file has been compiled to swc
library containing the js output and used in the compile command. Thank you
for your help.

 Couple of small things I noticed:

 "donated to this website" --> "donated to Apache Royale"
 "Royale 0.8" --> "Royale 0.9.4".

Re: NextGenAS tutorials on Royale website

2018-10-03 Thread Carlos Rovira
Hi Andrew,

you're right, but since we are republishing Josh content, I think it should
not be good to add content from other people (maybe you or I) that he
originally didn't write. Maybe is not clear, but we should left as Josh did.

In the other hand, Node is nowadays a standard in the industry and people
that uses it has its reasons (sometime enterprise needs to get js
dependencies in a concrete stablished way). We, as Apache Royale project
need to open doors so node people can integrate with us without problem.
For people that doesn't know about Node, maybe is not a need for them, so
as well is ok don't explain why they should use Node.

Just my 2cnts...

Re: NextGenAS tutorials on Royale website

2018-10-03 Thread Carlos Rovira
Hi, I think a catch with all revisions. Please let me know if it's ok to go:

https://royale.codeoscopic.com/hello-node-how-to-transpile-actionscript-for-node-js/

about Royale 0.8 to 0.9.4 change, I 'm not sure is what we want, since the
node support was from 0.8 and we still didn't release 0.9.4...is right?

Thanks

Carlos

Re: [royale-compiler] 01/03: fix bracket access of XML/XMLList

2018-10-03 Thread Harbs
OK.

I added some test cases for XMLList indexed access and assignment. One of those
tests passed before your change and is now failing.

I think this is a summary of the cases we need to deal with (and we probably
need more test cases…)

Given:
var xml:XML =
var baz:XMLList = foo.baz;

baz = foo["baz”];
Should become:
baz = foo.child("baz”);

baz = foo[foo.length()-1];
Should remain unchanged:
baz = foo[foo.length()-1];

foo["baz"] = ;
Now becomes:
foo.child("baz") = new XML(";
Should remain unchanged:
foo[0] = new XML("");

I don’t understand the logic in the compiler well enough to really know how to
go about fixing these. Numbers in brackets need to be handled differently that
strings and left hand of assignment should be different than right-hand.

I hope this info is helpful…
