<snap/> On the subject of artifact names and minimal manual intervention, do we care about the '-dist' suffix to the assemblies? If not, having a blank <id> in the assembly descriptors will help (with the downside that it will no longer be possible to point to the descriptor via its id, particularly relevant if we ever have more than one). -Rahul
