I really would llke to get a release of the resource resolver out and I
don't want to have an experimental feature in a release.
Once we have something out, we have to support it.

Hi,
Could someone please take a look at this and confirm if we're talking about
a bug or a feature?

This sounds mildly silly, but why don't we leave the feature in, but
only enable it based on the presence of a particular feature flag?
Shipping an "experimental" feature which can be toggled on or off
seems like a perfect use case for feature flags.
WDYT?

I think, let's remove this stuff from the resource resolver for now,
experiment with the flags in general and once we have a better picture, we
can add it back again - either in the same way or totally different. We
could also move the code to a branch or whiteboard so people can install
the experi
The post problem is fixed, btw - features are only evaluated for GET/HEAD

Ah, good point. Yes, I think we should have a custom @Inject-like
meta-annotation. Can't think of a good name now :)

Hi Justin,
Unfortunately to annotate an annotation with @Inject is not allowed. The
annotation is only allowed on methods, constructors and fields.
Do you think that it would be acceptable to come up with another
inject-annotation which is also allowed on annotations?
That should just be an alter

Hi,
FWIW, when this feature was first added, I had some misgivings for
similar reasons (ACL confusion, caching, etc.). After having used it,
however, I have changed my mind. Feature Flags may look similar to
ACLs, but they are useful for a different set of use cases than ACLs.
Feature flags are abo

Big +1, I never liked this approach and it can too easily be abused as a
poor replacement for ACLs.
As you say, we should remove all code from the resource resolver, as well
as some stuff from the feature flags bundle which relates to that code and
is not used anywhere else.

Hi,
Me and some of my colleagues have been experimenting with the
sling:features support that we have now in the o.a.s.resourceresolver
bundle, and I don't like it.
Although the concept sounds cool, we've had a number of subtle issues
that make me think that feature is not ready for prime time an
