AW: [VOTE] TinkerPop 3.3.7 Release

2019-05-28 Thread Florian Hockmann
I looked over the docs and everything was as expected. I also downloaded the Gremlin Server and Gremlin Console distributions and performed some manual testing with both. VOTE +1 -Ursprüngliche Nachricht- Von: Stephen Mallette Gesendet: Dienstag, 28. Mai 2019 17:29 An: dev@tinkerpop.a

Re: Type predicates (TP3 feature suggestion)

2019-05-28 Thread Daniel Kuppitz
+1 to have it as a predicate. Also, it may seem tempting to support as many types as possible, but I don't think we need that. Whenever I was in need of a type-check, I usually had to figure out if the element is a vertex or an edge. Hence, a small set of predefined types is probably good enough:

I started the release process this morning. Expect some VOTE threads soon. When I start 3.4.2 I expect to branch to tp34 and at that point master will be on 3.5.0. On Fri, May 24, 2019 at 4:25 PM Stephen Mallette wrote: > Just wanted to point out that there seems to be some delay in apache > pic

I've often thought of this feature more as a filter step than a predicate, but I suppose is() would work - I'd be curious to know what Daniel thinks... > TinkerPop 3 type system depends on the implementation, but there are some common types like Vertex, Edge, Map, List, String... I'm not sure how
