I looked over the docs and everything was as expected. I also downloaded the
Gremlin Server and Gremlin Console distributions and performed some manual
testing with both.

Time for a new release line naming discussion - Josh gave us the most
excellent "Avant-Gremlin Construction #3 for Theremin and Flowers" (and
logo) for the 3.4.x line. That's a tough act to follow...
Remember that the name rules are:
1. must be music related
2. must have a number in it
3. mus

Hello,

+1 to have it as a predicate.
Also, it may seem tempting to support as many types as possible, but I
don't think we need that. Whenever I was in need of a type-check, I usually
had to figure out if the element is a vertex or an edge. Hence, a small set
of predefined types is probably good enough:
I started the release process this morning. Expect some VOTE threads soon.
When I start 3.4.2 I expect to branch to tp34 and at that point master will
be on 3.5.0.

I've often thought of this feature more as a filter step than a predicate,
but I suppose is() would work - I'd be curious to know what Daniel thinks...

common types like Vertex, Edge, Map, List, String...
I'm not sure how
