When this out directory is created?
It is not target as usually in Maven, not output as in Tomcat
sources. Where it comes from? Just wondering.

When we use Eclipse IDE with Tomcat we configure it to use
.settings/output as the output directory and .settings is already
ignored.
Maybe similar trick can be used here.
