Dear Magnolia community, After 10 years of working for Magnolia, I’m ready to take on a new challenge, and have therefore decided to leave the company. It’s not a decision I took lightly, but it feels like the right point in time.
I’ve had ten great years at Magnolia. Among my personal highlights of my time here are helping build Magnolia from four people to 70 staff across five offices, making an open source project commercially successful, maintaining continuity across several product lifecycles, releasing the milestone that was Magnolia 5, giving keynote talks at conferences, and building up the product management team. I feel lucky to have already found someone to take on the CTO role - longstanding Magnolian Jan Haderka. He’ll be our new CTO as of 1 January, 2016. Most of you know Jan - he’s been at Magnolia since 2007, has built the Czech office from the ground up, has been our CIO and, since this past summer, also the dev team leader. For him to move into the CTO role feels natural. There’s another one of my roles that we haven’t filled yet - the one of leading the product management team. We’re currently searching for a suitable candidate. I am helping with this search and will only leave once we’ve found a great fit. I will make sure that I can pass on my knowledge to the new person, to ensure smooth transition. Magnolia has been my “baby”, and I want nothing but its continued success - and I believe the product has a great future ahead. I’ve enjoyed working with many of you - let’s stay in touch, don’t be strangers!
