Re: Question: Defining an official birthday for an Apache Airflow community meetup

We never had any "official birthday" - but the first commit date is a
good candidate.

But I think graduation to TLP in Apache is also a good one (8 Jan 2019)

However, 4 days to prepare for an event might be a bit **short** time ;)

Thank you so much for sharing this!

Personally, I was thinking that October 7, the date of the very first
commit, could be a nice candidate for an “Airflow birthday.”
(back then it was called Flux, not Airflow 😀)

Hello Yeonguk,

I do not know an official birthday / a recognised day/date, but I am
tempted to mention
that we celebrated 10 years of Airflow in Airflow Summit 2024 in San
Francisco.

Question: Defining an official birthday for an Apache Airflow community meetup

2025-12-30 Thread Yeonguk Choo
Hi everyone,

I’m planning to host an *Apache Airflow birthday community event in Korea
next year*, and I’d love to align it with a date that feels meaningful and
acceptable to the broader community.

Since Airflow has several important milestones (such as the initial commit,
entering the Apache Incubator, and graduating as an Apache Top-Level
Project), I wanted to ask the community:

*Is there a date that is generally considered the “birthday” of Apache
Airflow?*
If not, *which milestone do you think would be the most appropriate to
celebrate for a community event?*

Any thoughts, historical context, or precedents from past celebrations
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, and I hope to celebrate Airflow together with you all
next year! 🎉

Best regards,
Yeonguk
