Somehow `pip install airflow --no-cache-dir` works. It must use the tarball
uploaded on Pypi somehow.

Re: [RESULT][VOTE]Release Airflow 1.8.0 based on Airflow 1.8.0rc5

2017-03-20 Thread Arthur Wiedmer
Max,

The download url will not work :

it is pointing to
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/incubator/airflow/1.8.0
instead of
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/incubator/airflow/1.8.0-incubating

Also, we should add a long description mentioning that this is a
convenience clone but that the official release is on the apache website.

Best,
Arthur

Re: [RESULT][VOTE]Release Airflow 1.8.0 based on Airflow 1.8.0rc5

2017-03-20 Thread Maxime Beauchemin
Ok I just pushed the package to pypi and currently running a test install
on a virgin virtualenv as we speak.

Note that:
* I checked out the `1.8.0+apache.incubating` tag
* I altered `setup.cfg`
* removed my name and replace it by "Apache Airflow"
* removed my email and replaced with "dev@airflow.incubator.apache.org"
* when running "setup.py sdist upload" I got this error msg:

Upload failed (400): version: Cannot use PEP 440 local versions.
error: Upload failed (400): version: Cannot use PEP 440 local versions.

* I remediated to that by changing airflow/version.py from
`1.8.0+apache.incubating` to simply `1.8.0`

Upload worked.

Installed from scratch in a virgin virtualenv, and things seem to be
working.

Re: [RESULT][VOTE]Release Airflow 1.8.0 based on Airflow 1.8.0rc5

2017-03-19 Thread Bolke de Bruin
I’m doing the announcement on the IPMC in a few (need to grab breakfast first
;-) ). It can be done any time after that.

I need to bump the version number so I will need to re-sign and create a new
tar ball. I hope they won’t mind that, as it is a bit of a chicken and egg
problem.
