Re: Is it time for 5.0.5?

2025-07-21 Thread Štefan Miklošovič
Together with Maxim, we would like to also add (1). It is an
improvement from CASSANDRA-19552. It will be very tricky to fix
anything related to that once it is out as formats / behavior would change
so better to fix it now as it is not in any release yet.

The PR is up, depending how fast we can review and I can build it but
should be a matter of a day or two.

Regards

I have not yet, no. Been on my backlog to get around to that; I think it's
pretty well documented here

in case anyone else has the cycles right now.

I was planning to stage it after 19552 and Paulo's 19902. Do you know the
drill? Feel free to do that if you want. Seems like it is just me, Brandon
and Michael who exercises the releases, we should make the group of people
able to do that more wider but no problem staging it myself if you want ...

+1 on including CASSANDRA-19902 in 5.0.5.

Interestingly, the bug also blocks adding 5.0 support in Cassandra
Analytics. The integration test is failing w/o the patch.

I'd like to get CASSANDRA-19902 in 5.0.5 since it's a big operational
hurdle with a relatively quick fix. Can someone take a look?

Otherwise +1 to getting 5.0.5 out.

Thanks!
