Re: Release 0.14 / 1.0 ?

2015-10-09 Thread Florent Guillaume
Ok then Gabriele I'll let you do the release at your leisure, there's no hurry.

Even if you don't automate everything or most of it, please keep a
list of commands you run (basically a terminal log) that would be
nearly as useful to me.

Thanks,
Florent

Re: Release 0.14 / 1.0 ?

2015-10-08 Thread Gabriele Columbro
As Florian says [1] is deprecated and should just be removed.

This [2] is the latest updated documentation (maven based), but it’s also a bit
outdated (or there are manual steps not overly documented).

I had a target to make the release fully automated before handing it off
(ideally post 1.0), but honestly won’t get to it any soon. So if we want to do
another 0.x release, Florian, you can try to use [2] as a basis but YMMV.

Happy to maybe have one last chance to fix it myself, but will have to be
towards end of October.

Thanks,

Gab

 Hi,
I'm in favour of frequent release, so a 0.14 release is fine for me.
However, for a 1.0 there are some things i would like to see :)
A quick list, that needs some more elaboration:
 - java api more geared towards browser binding
 - less internal extra service calls
 - custom query params support
 - rate limiting remote calls for TCK

Hi Florent,

there is release documentation [1], but it is outdated. OpenCMIS and the
Apache release process have changed.
I guess you have to follow the Apache release policy [2]. Gab did the
last releases. Maybe he can provide a short checklist.

Hi Florian,

I can take over release management.
Is there a checklist of shell/maven/svn commands to run to prepare the
release candidate and then do the release?
