Good write-up Matt. And since we are speaking about guiding principles and goals, I wish we'd also mention someplace that our server will be built by parts and can be customizable per the users' needs. If our geronimo-framework and plugin architecture is what sets us apart from the others, then let's say it upfront. I think this is much better. I agree with Jeff that we should use JEE 5. I would also start a new paragraph with the "Our most prominent runtime " item. This is what most of our users care about for the time being and I think we want to make sure it is prominent. Joe
