Re: Priorities for 1.2
Sorry to be completely late on this thread but I'd like to add one more to the list... - Improved Tooling/Runtime integration. Re: Priorities for 1.2
Hmm. I could understand a poll to understand what items we should be *working* on. But you're posing this as a release wish list... I don't think it works like that... Planning a release isn't just what functions we would you like to see... It's a mix of "what" and "when"... For a 1.2 release, I'd target: Yoko ORB support Full Java 5 support Fill in some gaps from this list: Console extensibility Console usability improvements More out of the box samples If any of the following are available in a reasonable timeframe, then include these. GShell integration CMP improvements Jetspeed integration More out of the box samples JAF 1.1 Geronimo OSGi bundle I'll comment that I voted for time-boxed releases and I've ordered my list based primarily on putting the projects that are AFAIK being actively worked on first. ATM I plan to vote for release as soon as we have the tck passing. Many of the features above may not be compatible with a j2ee 1.4 server due to signature incompatibilities. I'm still waiting for an update from Geir on whether there will be updates to these tests to allow shipping a j2ee 1.4 server with jee5 spec jars. If not we will have to figure out what we can do to certify yet allow our users to try out the shiny new features. thanks david jencks On Oct 2, 2006, at 12:40 PM, Dain Sundstrom wrote: We have collected 14 features for 1.2 and now we need to prioritize them.
