Hi Vasily,
I just copied the page from Atlassian to cwiki and I was able to save it
with no problems. It all
seems to work just fine now, let me know if you find any issues.

Cheers!

I see your concerns and share them, but don't see how having a
space amounting to "uncategorized" eliminates disorganization. I
just see it being confusing as most people's first inclination will
be to document general Geronimo stuff that's not version specific
in the GERONIMO space.

It's also pretty trivial to move documents.

Just to add to my own post. Having the space name be "GERONIMO"
doesn't eliminate disorganization either. Just all things being
equal on that regard, I'd prefer to just keep it simple and use plain
"GERONIMO".

Re: cwiki.apache.org [longish]

2006-06-12 Thread Hernan Cunico
We have currently just 4 entries there, kinda skinny I know. As we deliver new releases this list
will follow along.

How could we organize the content in the geronimo space so we don't loose control (structure,
visibility, hierarchy, etc...)?

For instance, the space we have hosted at Atlassian. There we are limited by having a single space
so we get to play with just the hierarchy (we do have some issues with visibility, hierarchy and
structure)

If there is no separated space, would there be a top level page as a parent containing all the
general stuff? or the question is about having all the general info "consolidated" via one link to
the same space?

Moving from one space to another (from a user/contributor perspective) should be transparent. If we
change the name from Geronimo SandBox to "Geronimo General Information" for example, would that
still be confusing?

Could you elaborate more what would be confusing, not sure I follow. The last thing I wanted with
that structure was to make the things more confusing.

In addition, having a separated space provides extra benefits in terms of administration (do I need
to list? :) )

Cheers!

the other installation. It actually is failing to save any changes, there might be some "confluence"
code in the doc that this new version is not too happy with.

I'll review the page markup as soon as I have a min, if I can't find anything suspicious I could
re-import it from an XML (a new one from the Atlassian install) while we still look for the final
solution.

Hernan,

Thank you alot for your great work on new G wiki!

But oops, I was trying to copy my doc from the old location at:
http://opensource.atlassian.com/confluence/oss/display/GERONIMO/SPECjApp
Server2004
to the new location at:
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/GMOxDOC10/SPECjAppServer2004

I copied the wiki content and got a successful preview, but when I press
"Save", I get a System Error:

java.lang.IllegalStateException: Form too large
at org.mortbay.http.HttpRequest.extractParameters()V(Unknown Source)

I see that my doc is rather big, but it worked fine on the old
Confluence at opensource.atlassian.com.

Is it some new feature of Confluence 2.1.5a? :)
