Do all backends support 3-union fields? Because I think I saw that MongoDB
has the tests ignored.
HBase supports them.
Do you think the 3-union fields are interesting as a feature or we should
get rid of them completely?

About the mapping files and the fields 'boss' and 'webpage', yes, they
reference two other Persistent entities. You can see the schema of Employee
[1], were it has a boss (referencing itself) and a webpage (with the
WebPage schema defined there).
