Re: [ANNOUNCE] Apache Groovy 4.0.0-rc-2 released
Hi folks, I have created a GROOVY_4_0_X branch in git for Groovy 4. Master becomes Groovy 5 (though we haven't yet discussed much about what might be on our Groovy 5 roadmap - I'll start a separate thread for that). I'll tweak CI appropriately over the coming days. The next Groovy 4 version in Jira is 4.0.0-rc-3 which I'll rename to 4.0.0 should it turn out we don't need another RC. I expect the next release (rc3 or final) to be early to mid January to give time for feedback. Please try out Groovy 4 so we can iron out any gremlins before the final release. There are still some performance issues we are looking at, and while important, can also be accommodated in subsequent dot releases. The most critical aspect right now is to ensure we don't have any unforeseen/unintended code breakages. Cheers, Paul.
