Not sure if it is 2.4.21 related, but since the update I've seen now two times
an out of memory on a TLS only Subversion server (even all swap was consumed by
apache).
I don't think it is a missing free, if apache is stopped all allocated memory
and swap is available again, I haven't seen the same amount of memory
consumption with 2.4.20
will try to investigate

Re: [VOTE] Release Apache httpd 2.4.21 as GA

2016-06-20 Thread Jim Jagielski
Due to a last-minute regression, I am cancelling this VOTE.

Instead, the plan is to get the regression fix approved for
backport (http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1749151)
and release 2.4.22.

Thx to all testers... and keep your eyes open for the next VOTE to
come hopefully later on today.

As far as how to *install* the test suite, once you've checked out the
SVN repo, the README helped me:

http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/httpd/test/framework/trunk/README

It explains the recommended server configuration about halfway down.

https://perl.apache.org/docs/general/testing/testing.html is where I've
found the most in-depth information on how to actually *run* the test
suite (as well as instructions on how to develop the tests themselves).

It would be nice (TM) to have those consolidated into a single place.
(Even nicer to have the tests integrated into the httpd repo!)

Build on FreeBSD-10.3 (amd64) OK.
 - openssl from ports (OpenSSL 1.0.2h)
 - nghttp2-1.11.0

no build issues seen with the new proxy_hcheck and proxy_http2 modules, only
some minor warnings about unused variable 'aplog_module_index' iff build with
"CFLAGS+= -Wall"

PS:
Is there somewhere a document how to build and run the test suite?
(required and enabled modules ...)
If yes can do some further testing at the weekend
