Impala does not yet support grouping sets, but it's a feature we are
actively looking into.

Hey Xiaojian,

1: I did a quick text search in my Impala repo for "grouping set" and found
nothing.
2: Also I get syntax error when executing a query with GROUPING SETS.
3: I checked
https://github.com/cloudera/Impala/blob/cdh5-trunk/fe/src/main/cup/sql-parser.cup
for the accepted SQL syntax and again found nothing related.
I guess this means Impala doesn't support it :)
