Hi there!
As you may have seen on the d...@website.openoffice.org mailinglist a staging
site for migration of the OpenOffice.org website to the kenai infrastructure
is now available at http://testopenoffice.org
Thanks for the headsup! I think we've all, uhm, told this would happen one day
that, well, to see it actually seem to start to occur is, well, amazing.
Native language projects might be especially interested in a a new
header-localization feature which is described on the
http://kenai.com/projects/ooo-migration/pages/LayoutCustomizationforOOoOnKenai
Wiki page.
Indeed, and I strongly urge those subscribed here to check it out.
In short the Strings in the header of the OpenOffice.org website for a native
language projects can be localized now by providing a locale.yaml file for
the project.
this is terrific.
You can see an example content of such a local.yaml file here:
http://kenai.com/projects/ooo-migration/pages/Locale_yaml
http://de.testopenoffice.org is a first project which already uses this
feature.
Kind regards,
Bernd Eilers
Thanks, Bernd.
Are those of us here to ask questions on the website list or will you (and
others) be listening here?
thanks
Louis

Hi,
Earlier you heard that the OpenOffice.org main site will move to a new
framework named Kenai
http://website.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=devmsgNo=11196
In the meantime netbeans.org and many java.net projects went this route and
helped to pave the path for us.
For more information on how a Kenai-based site works and about the data
migration from the OOo site please visit
http://kenai.com/projects/ooo-migration/pages/Home
You'll read that a staging site we can play with is now available at
http://testopenoffice.org
In most areas the data migration scripts do already a good job so that users
with roles, projects with their lists/webcontent/downloads and the majority
of issue tracking information can be investigated.
The mailing list to synchronize the migration effort and raise questions is
discuss at ooo-migration.kenai.com
http://kenai.com/projects/ooo-migration/lists/discuss/archive
Greetings
Stefan
