Re: Next Oozie release

2021-02-01 Thread Gézapeti
Hey Denes,

I'm happy to hear this! I'm good with a 5.2.1 release with the fixes you've
proposed.
Can you get the ball rolling on the branch-5.2 with cherry-picks?
I think you can commit cherry-picks if there are no conflicts.

Thanks again,

Re: Next Oozie release

2021-01-30 Thread Dénes Bodó
Hi gp!

There is a couple of improvement and fix in Cloudera repository which are
intended to be merged into Apache upstream. Thus I recommend to have an 5.2.1
release with only critical fixes not to risk stability.
These are the ones I thought about:
 * OOZIE-3601 Upgrade quartz to 2.3.2
 * OOZIE-3549 Add back support for truststore passwords
 * CVE fix for Jetty

Let me know your thougs, please.

Thanks,
Denes

Next Oozie release

2021-01-21 Thread Gézapeti Cseh
Hi Oozie team,

I'd like to have a new Oozie release soon-ish. There are great
improvements in the master which are waiting to go out.
Are there any outstanding tickets you want to see in the next release and
we should wait for?

Re: Questions about next Oozie release

2017-04-26 Thread Peter Bacsko
Hi Dongying,

Yes, the next release will be 5.0.

We don't have definite dates yet, in fact, I don't think we eve have rough
dates. But the release should happen this year, sometime around sept-oct.
IMO it's feasible.
OYA will definitely be included in 5.0 and it's currently being reviewed.
I'd say it's on track.

Another thing that we have to agree on inside the Oozie community is the
support of 4.3.0 and 5.0. Since OYA introduces a significant change to
Oozie and certain things will be removed, we probably need to support both
but there's no consensus at the moment about how we'll accomplish this,
perhaps we have to follow the Hadoop-way. But it's not yet decided.

Hi:
Will the next Oozie release be 5.0.0? If yes, whether the OYA feature will
also be included in the release. And is there any plan on the release date?
Thank you very much.
