Hi all, after quite a while of being consumed with spreading the word, I finally had the chance to use a full day to finally work on PLC4X again. In preparation of some upcoming enhancements, today I cleaned up quite a lot of cyclic dependencies between the different layers of the S7 driver. Now it should be possible to transport S7 traffic over other protocols than IsoTP and IsoOnTcp and we can use our IsoOnTcp and IsoTP implementations in other drivers.
Also I would like to report that on Monday we had our first working PLC4X & Edgent application running on an industry machine … I definitely need to implement the S7 PDU fragmentation, but besides that it seems to have worked like a charm (After sorting out all Kafka related problems). Chris
