The project's Jira link gets nowhere, last release is 2 years ago, and
xmlbeans chokes on Upper Planes of UNICODE with an exception starting with:
java.io.CharConversionException: Characters larger than 4 bytes are not
supported: byte 0x82 implies a length of more than 4 bytes

It's AD 2014, Twitter users are frantically using the emojies mapped by the
Upper Planes, everybody and their dog (even MySQL, half-baked as they do it
in 5.x) started to do something about those characters.
