Marshall, I don't know how XMLBeans binaries got there, Apache is using http://repository.apache.org . I notice that the Maven central repository appears to have xmlbeans releases up to 2.4.0, but doesn't have 2.5.0, although looking at the timestamps of the files here: http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/apache/xmlbeans/xmlbeans/2.4.0/ it seems there might be a mixture of 2.4 and 2.5 because the dates cluster around July 2008 and July 2009.
