Calling gnome-ish package maintainers -- please check mclazy metadata
Hi all, mclazy.py has spent the last couple of days sending builds to koji for the 3.5.90 release. mclazy.py uses the default version numbers of: f16 = 3.2.* f17 = 3.4.* f18 = 3.5.*/3.6.* rawhide = * (the newest upstream version) This works really well when the project pushing tarballs to ftp.gnome.org uses the official GNOME version numbering. If a project decides to do it's own thing (like sushi, glib, cheese, etc.) then we need a way to map the upstream version numbers to Fedora releases. This is where the modules.xml file comes in. I would very much appreciate if maintainers could please just do a 20 second check of https://gitorious.org/mclazy/mclazy/blobs/master/modules.xml to make sure mclazy is picking up the right version for each release. If there are any mistakes, or if you just want to opt out of mclazy completely, please just reply to this email or send me email off-list. small tip regarding git branch bash prompt in F18/Rawhide
Hey folks - just in case you haven't all figured this out yet, if you're using the neat little trick of putting a few lines in your ~/.bashrc so that when you're in a directory containing a git repo, the prompt will display what branch you're in, it'll stop working when you update to the latest git - 1.7.12 - in F18 or Rawhide. To fix it, you need to change: source /etc/bash_completion.d/git to: source /usr/share/doc/git-1.7.12/contrib/completion/git-prompt.sh because upstream split the prompt stuff out from the bash_completion script. Perhaps the git packagers could consider providing git-prompt.sh in a more permanent location, so we don't have to poke .bashrc every time the git version changes? Well, you could have two macros -- pre-F18 they do what they do now, F18+, they do the same thing and defer to the policy. Another way to go is to create 2 macros for pre-F18 that are no-ops F18+ and make the F18+ macros no-ops pre-F18. Then have packagers put both in (or maintain two versions of the spec file). It's kind of ugly, but it sounds like it's that or wait until F20 before maintainers start picking up the new macros (unless they already have different spec files per Fedora version). TLS definition mismatch error in mrpt
Hi, I'm trying to rebuild one of my packages (mrpt), and I'm running into a TLS mismatch error that I am having issues troubleshooting. The offending build is at https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=4412122 A little background into the involved packages symbols: pcl (the point cloud library) is a huge library that implements a bunch of different algorithms for dealing with point clouds. It uses the eigen3 library extensively for matrix math. eigen3 is a header-only c++ template library. I recently built new versions of eigen3[1] and pcl[2]. I've googled it a bit, the only results I find have to do with including errno.h in the offending source files. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into this error or could provide some pointers as to how to debug.
