Re: EPEL Updating Puppet to 2.7.x
On Wed, Aug 7, 2013 at 4:22 PM, Jeff Sheltren j...@tag1consulting.com wrote: On Wed, Aug 7, 2013 at 9:43 AM, Kevin Fenzi ke...@scrye.com wrote: So, could you remind us again of the various interactions of the versions? (or is there a doc on it?) Ie, of 2.6, 2.7, 3.0, which versions clients can talk to which versions servers? So 2.6 clients should be able to talk with 2.7.x masters. The later 2.7.x stuff is even better with more helpful warnings and deprecation notices. I'm not sure about 2.7 - 3.0, but for the sake of this discussion perhaps what's important is that 2.6 clients and/or servers don't get along with 2.7 clients and/or servers. So any existing client or server using EPEL puppet will need to be updated at the same time. Also, is there any changes people would need to make to their puppet manifests between 2.6 and 2.7? The main things are: Service resource types by default have has_status = true in 2.7.x (which was mostly of the time manually set in 2.6.x by people authoring code anyway). I think there was one other item, but I can't for the life of me remember it right now. There also is some ill-defined behavior in 2.7.x on using Class/Variable names with a hyphen in them. I'd advice against it. I think there are some small things here, but should mostly just work -- I'm able to share some (relatively simple) configs between 2.6 and 2.7 servers/clients with no issues. If someone could provide more detail than that, I'd appreciate it :) Sam, any idea where this is at? In general I'm in favor of getting it updated... +1, just hate the surprise breakage for those that don't see this coming... -Jeff ___ epel-devel mailing list epel-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/epel-devel ___ epel-devel mailing list epel-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/epel-devel
Re: bcache, udev rules and calling blkid

dnf-0.4.2 released
Hello, dnf-0.4.2 was released in Fedora 20[1] and Fedora Rawhide today. The highlights of the release are parallel downloads, detecting the fastest mirrors for downloads, support for repo.cost config option (which all has been in Yum for a long time and we are adding it to DNF again now) and losing the urlgrabber dependency. See the full release notes on the documentation page.[2] We also started a blog about DNF: dnf.baseurl.org At the current time it pretty much contains only the release announcements same as the ones I sent to the lists. Lot more to come. Re: New maintainer for lirc/Jarod Wilson's packages
- Original Message - Hi, Jarod Wilson, the current lirc maintainer, announced that he wants someone else to maintain lirc due to lack of time/interest[0]. Probably his other four packages need a new maintainer as, well[1]: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/users/packages/jwilson?acls=owner cx18-firmware -- Firmware for Conexant cx23418-based video capture devices libcrystalhd -- Broadcom Crystal HD device interface library Fabiano Fidencio should be interested, he got one of the 2 Broadcom cards that Jarod sent me all that time ago. lirc -- The Linux Infrared Remote Control package rinputd -- A server for receiving input events over the network wacomexpresskeys -- Wacom ExpressKeys and Touch Strips configuration utility FWIW, this is now properly integrated in GNOME, as a first-class citizen. Please respond here, if you want to take a package over including your FAS name and I will transfer the package if Jarod agrees. We've got a decent number of bugs up for review tomorrow, so join us and help move this process along! We'll be running through the final blockers and freeze exception bugs. The current list is available at: http://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/current We'll be reviewing the bugs to determine ... 1. Whether they meet the beta release criteria [1] and should stay on the list 2. [Bug 1014054] New: perl-Net-Patricia license tag is broken.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1014054 Bug ID: 1014054 Summary: perl-Net-Patricia license tag is broken. Product: Fedora Version: 19 Component: perl-Net-Patricia Assignee: or...@cora.nwra.com Reporter: kame55-itasenpara...@y2.dion.ne.jp QA Contact: extras...@fedoraproject.org CC: or...@cora.nwra.com, perl-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org, phil...@redfish-solutions.com Hello. SRC rpm is : perl-Net-Patricia-1.20-2.fc19.src.rpm perl-Net-Patricia license tag is broken. (not vaild license tag) See: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:LicensingGuidelines?rd=Packaging/LicensingGuidelines#.22Distributable.22 I see copyright notice text. copyring notice file list: A) Net-Patricia-1.20/COPYING B) Net-Patricia-1.20/libpatricia/copyright I think that A is GPLv2, B is 4-cause BSD License. 4-cause BSD License is GPL incompatible. (Adversing cause) I think that this is license problem and non-free. Note: GPL and 4-cause BSD License is free, fedora acceptable licenses. Suggests: 1. resolve license problem (if this is license problematic) and fixing license tag. 2. Remove fedora repos. 3. contact upstream author. Thanks.
