Small correction, we started on it at the end of last week!

https://github.com/fedora-infra/fedora-packages/pulse/weekly

We'll put out a small bugfix release soon with some simple changes
(mostly to make sure that we have the release/deployment cycle
down-pat) and then we'll get into some of the more structural changes
in the coming weeks.

Ok, I should read it carefully. Links are working. Does it make sense to
post here a link to the fpc ticket?

We do. I realize that it's a silly distinction, but getting software
approved that's "from RedHat" is tons easier for us than when it's "from
CentOS".

fedora-packages out of sync with bugzilla

2015-10-20 Thread Christopher
Has anybody else noticed that the fedora-packages bug listing (linked from
pkgdb) seems out of sync with bugzilla? For example,
https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/zookeeper/bugs shows bugs which
have been closed as being still open, and the counts are incorrect.

Is this a known issue?

Somewhat. The problem is that packages often has problems with it's
cache, etc...
Do see the note at the bottom:

Note: There's some caching going on here. If you expect something and
don't see it, check back in 5 minutes.

(Although I assume you did check back and it was still stalled?)

We are planning a re-work/re-write of the application entirely, but
it's not happened yet. ;(

I'll see if I can get it to sync things up again.

Yes, that's *exactly* what I was telling you. Skip 2.8 and update EPEL

I don't know how to say this other than your concept of what the "rest of
the world" wants being different from what the current upstream project works on
is entirely wrong.

Re: Kernel 4.2.3-200 stability problems and mouse cursor defects...

2015-10-20 Thread Alex G.S.
Well, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to Fedora 23 Workstation, so
I no longer have access to that version. Also on Fedora 23 I don't see that
particular kernel bug. Everything seems to work great, I'll file any bugs
if I see them.

Thank you!

[Bug 1273668] New: to_string() appends 'undef' to array attribute

2015-10-20 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1273668

Bug ID: 1273668
   Summary: to_string() appends 'undef' to array attribute
   Product: Fedora EPEL
   Version: epel7
 Component: perl-Exception-Base
  Severity: low
  Assignee: p...@city-fan.org
  Reporter: j...@apnic.net
QA Contact: extras...@fedoraproject.org
CC: p...@city-fan.org, perl-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org

Description of problem:
Invoking to_string has the side effect of appending 'undef' to an array
attribute.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
perl-Exception-Base-0.2500-1.el7.noarch.rpm
perl v5.16.3

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Can reproduce with this perl script:

#!/bin/perl
use warnings;
use strict;

use Data::Dumper;

use Exception::Base
'MyException', => {
message => 'Validation error',
has => [ qw(class errors) ],

string_attributes => [ 'message', 'class', 'errors' ]
};
eval {
MyException->throw(
class  => __PACKAGE__,
errors => ["error 1", "error 2", "error 3"]
);
};

my $exception = $@;

print( Dumper($exception->errors()) . "\n");

$exception->to_string();

print( Dumper($exception->errors()) . "\n");

Actual results:
Can see an additional 'undef' in the array returned after invoking to_string();

Expected results:
The returned array should be the same as when thrown.

10 "works for me" and 1 "deletes all my data" do not make a quality of +9.
They mean a package that should be unpushed ASAP and most definitely NEVER
be pushed to stable.

I mostly ignore generic "works for me" feedback with no details. It is not
useful. I mainly care about whether there was any legitimate negative
feedback or not. (Unfortunately, there is also plenty of invalid negative
feedback, e.g., regressions that are actually caused by other updates, "does
not fix bug #nnn" when it was never claimed to be fixed, etc.)

Heads Up: New arpack coming to rawhide

2015-10-20 Thread Dominik 'Rathann' Mierzejewski
Dear maintainers,
I've just updated arpack to 3.3.0 in rawhide. There are two removed
symbols compared to the latest version in rawhide (3.1.5), but none
of the consumers seem to link against them so it should be safe.

$ rpmsodiff arpack-3.1.5-2.fc23.x86_64.rpm
arpack-3.3.0-1.b0f7a60git.fc24.x86_64.rpm
common sonames:
libarpack.so.2  /usr/lib64/libarpack.so.2.0.0
/usr/lib64/libarpack.so.2.0.0

Here's the list of affected packages:
$ dnf repoquery --srpm --alldeps --releasever=rawhide --whatrequires arpack
armadillo-0:5.600.2-1.fc24.src
arpack-0:3.1.5-2.fc23.src

julia-0:0.4.0-2.fc24.src
scilab-0:6.0.0-0.2.alpha1.fc24.src
shogun-0:4.0.1-0.1.git20150808.779c3ad.fc24.src
tapkee-0:1.0-5.fc23.src

I won't be doing any rebuilds (as none seem to be necessary), but do
tell me if there are any issues with this update.

Regards,
Dominik
