I'm against this because then elfutils will behave differnently than any
other packages. If you don't care about elfutils messages, you probably
don't care about other package's messages too.

RPM has a run-time macro allowing to exclude localization files from
installing them. That's the reason why the message catalog files, if
packaged properly, carry a language attribute in the binary RPM package
metadata.

Utilizing this feature (as well as documentation stripping) is job for
a package manager. For DNF.

(There is another hypothetical approach based on sub-packaging the
message catalogs that resembles your idea, but the approach was
postponed until Fedora will have support rich dependencies.)

Yes, we are aware of that, and we are working on it. The repoquery should
have been done for '/usr/lib64/pgsql/*.so' -- but the list is not much
larger so we haven't updated this trhead.

Thanks for the catch!

It is a weekly check running against the meta-data of rawhide, so you need to
build it, not just push :)

2016-01-08 Thread Parag Nemade
Hi,

The current maintainer has requested[1] that he has no time to work
on redeclipse package and requested if any co-maintainers can help
this package.
Can someone interested in this game package, 9co-maintain this package?

Regards,

Who owns the Fedora Atlas account?

2016-01-08 Thread Daniel Farrell
Hello Fedora devs,

Who owns this account?

https://atlas.hashicorp.com/fedora

My initial hope was to get the F22 boxes[0] hosted there, in addition to
the current F23 ones[1]. Digging into that on #fedora-devel, dgilmore told
me that the account isn't official and the owner is unknown. Dave_o then
pointed out that the account may have been created by Hashicorp, not Fedora
devs.

[0]:
https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/22/Cloud/x86_64/Images/
[1]: https://atlas.hashicorp.com/fedora/

Obviously it'd be nice to get the facts, and likely it'd be nice to have
the account under community control.

Thanks for the help,

Re: No sound also with kernel 4.3.3-300

2016-01-08 Thread ivan . benito
Last week I lost sound after upgrading from f22 to f23. I'm not sure if it
could be the same problem. In my case, I don't know exactly what happened, but
after upgrading, the system couldn't find the corresponding version of
kmod-nvidia and it seems that fedora automatically got a previous kernel
version with an existing kmod-nvidia to be able to boot, but the sound died :(

Once I realized that the system couldn't find the sound card, I checked my
kernel version ( uname -a ) and I found that it wasn't the latest one. In my
boot folder I found a newest kernel but grub wasn't using it. So after
expending an hour checking what was happening, I changed kmod-nvidia with akmod
in order to boot fedora with the latest kernel available and boila, sound came
back.

They added namespacing to the git repo. I expect the tools will be

Hi,

It is owned by a few of us from Fedora Cloud Sig. It is not under the
normal release engineering process right now but we hope for it to be in
Fedora 24.

I have opened a ticket to track this, but haven't made much progress on
it since I opened it: https://fedorahosted.org/cloud/ticket/133

As for Fedora 22. There were some issues in those images that were fixed
by F23. I think we decided not to release them in Atlas because of those
issues.

At least right now. Can you try pushing again and confirm it's still

Agreed.

What will happen when upgrading Fedora 22 and Fedora 23 to Fedora 24
if ca-legacy is deprecated? Does do those certs get removed upon

Planned datacenter work - 2016-01-11 to 2016-01-15

2016-01-08 Thread Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.

Next week we are going to be optimizing some cabling in our primary
datacenter. While we hope to avoid any unplanned outages, there may be
times when network cables are moved when services don't respond right
away.

As always, watch https://status.fedoraproject.org/ for Fedora
Infrastructure services status.

Thank you for the analysis. I tried --allow-weak-digest-algos, but that
breaks with older branches, because older gnupg versions don't support the

I decided I would instruct Byron in how to unsubscribe from our mailing
list, when I discovered *I don't know how.*

It seems with HyperKitty we no longer have an easily-accessible way to
unsubscribe from our mailing lists. How can this be done without
registering a Fedora account?

Previously the option to unsubscribe was front-and-center when clicking
the link at the bottom of each mail.

by sending the unscubscribe mail to the corerct address
just look at the list headers

+Patch by Robert Scheck  for Crypt::GPG <= 1.64, which
+replaces the test keys with stronger hash algorithm, because GnuPG >= 1.4.20 is
+refusing MD5. The GnuPG option --allow-weak-digest-algos was introduced,
however
+older versions of GnuPG do not recognize that option. Thus this patch replaces

I now replaced the test keys with the package signing keys of EPEL 7, which
works with GnuPG 1.4.19 and 1.4.20. Thanks for the report and the analysis!

what is the purpose of breaking DMARC by add a list-footer pointing to a
site with no unsubscribe-information

why can't the list-footer contain that information at all or just be removed
when it has no real use besides breaking DMARC/DKIM and get quoted by
careless people making read posts harder?

FIX THAT HEADERS IN GENERAL - THE "--"-line needs to be "-- " for MUA's
recognize it as signature and don't quote it all the time

Did you file this bug upstream?

not sure if the list-footer is a upstream thing

for this reply it was not necessary to strip the footer because before
was your signature with a correct "-- " containg a trailing space at the
end of the line

Orphaning The Mana World (tmw and tmw-music)

2016-01-08 Thread Martin Gieseking

Hi,

unfortunately, I have to orphan the two Mana World packages tmw [1] and
tmw-music [2] since I don't use them any longer and don't have enough
time to maintain them properly. It would be great if somebody is still
interested in The Mana World and could take ownership.

As far as I can tell, the code base of the currently packaged tmw client
is outdated and should be updated to the recent system available at
GitHub [3].

what is the purpose of breaking DMARC by add a list-footer pointing to a

why can't the list-footer contain that information at all or just be
removed when it has no real use besides breaking DMARC/DKIM and get
quoted by careless people making read posts harder?

FIX THAT HEADERS IN GENERAL - THE "--"-line needs to be "-- " for MUA's

That seems weird to me because I forgot to add a description in pkgdb
when I created ola. But that was almost a month ago but the overview[1]
still says "(no description in pkgdb)" while the subpackages do have their
descriptions from the spec file.

Do we have stats for non-edition reports? (Covering, e.g. other spins.)

Updating summary and description of a package on pkgdb and the spec

2016-01-08 Thread Ankur Sinha
Hiya!

Can the summary and description of a package be changed on pkgdb?

Also, if it can't, is it OK if the summary and description on pkgdb
differ from the spec?

Got my answer from puiterwijk over IRC:

Pkgdb picks up the summary and description from the spec itself, so one
just needs to update the spec and it should reflect in pgkdb after the
next push.

So the whole business of faffing around extracting the description to
paste into the new package form is a bit pointless then, because it will
just get overwritten when the initial spec is pushed?

Does that apply to the upstream URL as well?

There's info in the email headers although if you're not that familiar with
mailing lists that's not exactly discoverable.

Robust mail clients can use the RFC 2369 headers to prominently present an
unsubscribe link when displaying list mail.

Re: /etc/os-release VARIANT_ID in Bugzilla bugs opened by ABRT

2016-01-08 Thread Jakub Filak

A few months after Fedora 23 was released we have:

- 1149 bug reports for Workstation
- 14 bug reports for Server
- 5 bug reports for Cloud

It doesn't mean that Server and Cloud variants are more stable.
Fedora Workstation users just use ABRT to report crashes more often.

Jakub
