Error while retiring breathe

2016-04-06 Thread Dave Johansen
I'm renaming breathe [1] to python-breathe [2]. I just tried to retire
breathe in f22 using the instructions on the wiki [3] and got the following
error:
Could not retire package: Error while decoding JSON: Expecting value: line
1 column 1 (char 0)

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Dave

This list is for development discussion of the 389 system, not for "developing
against" 389. Next time, please use the 389-users list :)

However, the answer to your question.

You can look for notifications of changes in DS with two mechanisms. Syncrepl,
where the server will send you changes as they are made and you can see them, or
persistent search, where as entries change, the server sends them to you.

I believe you will want persistent search here. Here is the python docs, but it
can be done in any ldap client library.

https://www.python-ldap.org/doc/html/ldap-controls.html#module-ldap.controls.psea
rch

It shouldn't be very difficult to write I don't think.

You would need a thread that handles the persistent search, and this can queue a
log of the changess.

Then you can have another thread that looks at the "log" and sends the events
via
the soap call to the other service.

Does that help you?

 zerofree-1.0.3-6.el5 (FEDORA-EPEL-2016-357cc321aa)
Utility to force unused ext2 inodes and blocks to zero

Update Information:

zerofree is a utility to set unused filesystem inodes and blocks of an ext2
filesystem to zero. This can improve the compressibility and privacy of an ext2
filesystem. This tool was inspired by the ext2fs privacy (i.e. secure deletion)
patch described in a Linux kernel mailing list thread. WARNING: The filesystem
to be processed should be unmounted or mounted read-only. The tool tries to
check this before running, but you should be careful.

References:

[389-devel] Subscribing for notification when an entry changes using SOAP

2016-04-06 Thread anteneh assen
I need an application, which uses the directory server for storage, to be able
to subscribe for notification when a specific kind entry/attribute/sub-tree is
changed by another application(the application could be same kind of
application or not). The application would use SOAP to send subscription
request and receive the response. After the application has successfully
subscribed for notification the DS should send a notification to the app using
SOAP.
Is it possible to write code to implement this feature and if yes how hard
would it be?

thank you

On its way... It would be nice however for someone to test it. I didn't see any
karma on the package. Perhaps next time when an update is requested ensure it
works and provide karma on the bug tracker?

[389-devel] Please review (Take 2): [389 Project] #48784: Make the SSL version set to the client library configurable.

(Thanks!)

 * Fixed a typo in an error message.
 * Changed the return type of getSSLVersionRangeOL to void since there
is no need to check it.

Regarding the min value of SSL version range, please see the comments below.

This is the access log snippet of the replication. As you see, even
though the min value is TLS1.0 (or even setting to SSL3), the higherst
available version is picked. So, we may not have to worry too much about
  it.

Re: Announce: OpenCV 3.1 in Rawhide

2016-04-06 Thread Richard Shaw
It's interesting that OpenImageIO failed for f24 but succeeded for rawhide.
Could it be a gcc 6 issue? It looks like f24 is release 0.15 and rawhide is
0.17 at the time of build.

Thanks,
Richard

That's interesting idea. I only worry there could be cases when the
perl-generators were unnecessarily installed. E.g. you install vim-enhanced,
thus you have perl-libs, and you install rpm-build for building non-perl
packages. Then you will have perl-generators. I'm not sure how much it
would bother people.

Another issue: FESCo banned the rich dependencies
.

We were discussing this for F-25 and they're not banned for F-25, just
F-24, at least so far.

I'm not against adding the suggested conditional dependency to make the build
root more compatible. I only feel telling packagers "you don't have to
build-require perl-generators" and then adding "but you have sometimes"
a little bit confusing and hard to follow.

How about "if you ship a perl script or module, you must BR: perl"?

For the vast majority of packages, this would be needed anyway as perl
is used in the build process. For those few exceptions you were talking
about, this would pull in perl-generators via dependencies. All clear
and problem solved.

It's currently correct according to FESCo's request as I understood it.
While f25 might still be able to compose, if the tools aren't fixed
before the next branch then we'll have to back things out or end up back
in a situation where we can't mash updates.

The issue is it's breaking the mash which indeed affects all Fedora
versions.

Until the tooling is moved from yum to dnf then it's not safe to use the
booleans in requires or recommends.

The reason suggest is left out is that yum currently recognise that tag
(but it does the others) so it doesn't cause mash to fail.

This changes meaning regarding to F25. Previous text banned rich strong
dependencies in F24 only. This current text extends the ban to all
Fedoras.

Is that intentional?
