Cool. I still need to keep them tagged for f30, but will archive them
after that.

Thanks!

The only living packages from this list without current f31 or rawhide
builds:

elasticsearch (gradle hellscape)
expresso (abandoned upstream)
infinispan (lots of deps orphaned)
shim-unsigned-aarch64 (will let pjones handle)
shim-unsigned-x64 (will let pjones handle)

golang-gopkg-sourcemap was renamed to golang-gopkg-sourcemap-1
libocrdma was obsoleted by rdma-core
nuvola-app-groove is dead because Microsoft Groove was discontinued at the
end of 2017
owncloud is dead due to orphaning for 6+ weeks
yaws is dead due to orphaning for 6+ weeks

All the others have f31 or f32 builds.

There are newer sympow builds for F30+, so I'm not sure why this one

Re: List of long term FTBFS packages to be retired in February (release candidate)

2019-12-20 Thread Kevin Fenzi
So, I thought it might be good to mention another list, related to this
list.

Eariler this year we archived old Fedora builds off to seperate archive
drives. This was to allow us to have a smaller set of things that are
active so we could keep them on fast storage, but move the old things
that people rarely if ever access off to slower storage. This process is
still ongoing, but we moved about 20TB or so of old fc6->f29 builds off
to archive volumes.

During this, we hit a small number of packages that were built for
really old releases and inherited into current, active releases.
In order for them to avoid the archiving process, I tagged them into
another tag: do-not-archive-yet.

You can see the list with: koji list-tagged do-not-archive-yet

These packages should match up with the FTBFS from older/eol releases,
but perhaps we should check.

I suspect those will be one of the "Miro is breaking the distro" kind of
retirements. So I'm explicitly CCing the maintainer again.

List of long term FTBFS packages to be retired in February (release candidate)

2019-12-15 Thread Miro Hrončok

Dear maintainers.

Based on the latest fail to build from source policy, the following packages
will be retired from Fedora 32 approximately one week before branching (February
2020).

Policy:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/

The packages in rawhide were not successfully built at least since Fedora 30.

This report is based on dist tags and represents a preliminary list of packages.

Packages collected via:
https://github.com/hroncok/fedora-report-ftbfs-retirements/blob/master/ftbfs-retirements.ipynb

The main purpose is to gather feedback.

If you see a package that was built, please let me know.
If you see a package that should be exempted from the process, please let me
know and we can work together to get a FESCo approval for that.

If you see a package that can be rebuilt, please do so.
