Does 'dnf module reset libgit2' fix the issue?

Bodhi shows that updates for both of these packages exist already.
Both are labeled "Automatic update for ". The logs for
both include "This update has been submitted for stable by bodhi", but
they never actually reached stable. I clicked on the "Push to
Testing" button for both. It might be a good idea to check for the
existence of other such zombie updates, although maybe I was the only
fool actually building packages while the bodhi activation was taking
place.

That is much better option than using `--allowerasing`, because this
command removes leaf packages, on which nothing depends. Of course you
are in charge if the packages are removed at the end or not. Using f-o-p
is not always better, because obviously if nothing else, somebody must
maintain that package.

Hate to state the obvious, but blindly removing packages (and anything

banshee is still maintained in Fedora.
It seems that latest banshee package requires mono(Mono.Addins) = 1.0.0.0,
but mono-addins only provides mono(Mono.Addins) = 0.6.0.0. Maybe we need
a later version?

Problem 2: problem with installed package
system-config-users-docs-1.0.9-14.fc30.noarch

system-config-users >= 1.2.82, but none of the providers can be installed

  - system-config-users-1.3.8-6.fc29.noarch does not belong to a

Hmm, mono-core-5.20.1-1.fc31 provides mono(ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib) = 4.84.0.0,

tpokorra, can you take a look?
I will rebuild sharpziplib, that was built before mono scripts were

I'm not sure why that would be. It's smaller repodata, mirrored the same
way.

Perhaps check /var/log/dnf.librepo.log the next time it does this and
see if there's anything there to help track it down?

If the package does not cause an issue, then it can be left behind. But it can
be removed using
fedora-obsolete-packages. The general approach is: if it does not cause an
issue during an upgrade, then do not remove
it and leave it on the user.

Try it without it. The point is not to "pass it somehow", but pass it properly
according documentation. If erasing is
needed, then there is likely missing some obsolete somewhere.

packit-0.6.0-1.fc31 is the latest build, and there's an update:

So, aeskulap was orphaned. I don't even see an F31 branch somehow:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/aeskulap/branches?branchname=master

What should be done here?

> - dcmtk-3.6.2-4.fc29.x86_64 does not belong to a distupgrade repository

There's certainly a build for F31 for dcmtk.
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1322503

I don't see an update for F31 on bodhi, though. Maybe that got skipped?

> - vtk-8.1.1-5.fc30.x86_64 does not belong to a distupgrade repository

There's vtk 8.2.0-6 that is already in F31 stable. So not sure what this
implies:
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2019-986bbe4d7f

In general what does "does not belong to a distupgrade repository" mean?

For some reason (maybe somebody from either infra or the modular camp
can provide more info), the metadata for fedora-modular repositories fails
to download much more often than regular fedora.

Just kick it again.

File a bug please. It's against the guidelines to have a
higher-numbered build in F30 compared to F31. Maintainers need
to file an update for F31.

but mono-tools-4.2-15.fc31 was built later.

Actually, no. dcmtk should be fixed when aeskulap is obsoleted.

openshot is from rpmfusion.

Actually, no. vtk should be fixed when jsoncpp is upgraded.

Perhaps DNF can issue a warning or more information during package
upgrades, for example indicating available streams.

My problem listing is so large it will probably account for noise
here. It all boils down to the coccinelle package
(coccinelle-1.0.7-5.fc30.x86_64 on my machine) generating 8 verbose
problems. If you can't reproduce it I will reluctantly dump the whole
thing ;)

Quick peek shows that it hasn't been rebuilt yet for f31 or rawhide:

https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/coccinelle

So I assume it's only a matter of time until it is rebuilt against f31's OCaml.

I also had another package causing a problem, but I removed it from my system:

I removed rss2email from my installation, smells like missing py2 obsoletes.

A variant:

Only four problems:

 python2-policycoreutils noarch2.9-4.fc30 @System 1.3 M

Thanks.

No errors for me, but 3 downgrades:

Downgrading:
 gap-pkg-edim x86_64 1.3.3-6.fc31fedora78 k
 gap-pkg-genssnoarch 1.6.5-6.fc31fedora56 k
 python3-parsonoarch 0.5.1-1.fc31fedora 142 k

The first two are mine. I did those builds right about the time that
bodhi was enabled for F31. After it was enabled, I tried to create
updates for them just in case they hadn't quite made it in, and bodhi
told me there were no candidate builds. I just tried again, and bodhi
*still* tells me there are no candidate builds. These are the latest
actual builds for them:

gap-pkg-edim-1.3.5-1.fc31
gap-pkg-genss-1.6.6-1.fc31

How should I fix this?

The third one, python3-parso, has builds for 0.5.1-2.fc30 and
0.5.1-2.fc32, but there is no 0.5.1-2 build for fc31.

So the python2-pillow-qt subpackage was dropped, but not all
python2-pillow subpackages. It'd be best if pillow maintainers either
do the obsoletes internally or file a bug against f-o-p.

aeskulap is gone. I'll add it to f-o-p.

python2-future is obsoleted by f-o-p.
python2-pyglet must be too. I'll add it to f-o-p.

There is some magic incantation needed to reset dnf's knowledge
of the module, so non-modular libgit2 is installed:

I did:
sudo dnf module disable libgit2 standard-test-roles
sudo dnf remove rust-libgit2-sys-devel
sudo dnf upgrade libgit2

This seems to work, but if you have other packages like rust-libgit2-sys-devel,
you might need to remove them also. Maybe there's some better incantation.

This looks like a typo: we have ibus-libpinyin-1.11.1-2.fc31.x86_64.
The fix will be in langpacks-core-zh_CN.

Had to remove 'openshot' (FTBFS in rpmfusion) and then upgrade went fine.

$ rpm -q --obsoletes fedora-obsolete-packages|grep policycore
python2-policycoreutils < 2.9-2

So the package is gone and obsoleted in F31. unifi would have to
stop depending on it. There is no Fedora bug here.

Below are the three problems that I get. There are already bugs filed against
chirp for python2, but I didn't see any relating to PyQwt or crypto-utils.
Should I create new bugs for them?

No issues on my laptop with F30 Workstation + Dev and multimedia stuff (from
rpmfusion):

Looking forward to F31. Thank you all for your great work!

Re: Donate 1 minute of your time to test upgrades from F30 to F31

2019-09-11 Thread Richard Shaw
Not sure where this one should go but looks like there's a problem with
policycoreutils-python...

Problem 5: problem with installed package unifi-5.10.25-1.fc30.x86_64
  - package unifi-5.10.25-2.fc31.x86_64 requires policycoreutils-python,
but none of the providers can be installed
  - unifi-5.10.25-1.fc30.x86_64 does not belong to a distupgrade repository
  - python2-policycoreutils-2.9-1.fc30.noarch does not belong to a
distupgrade repository

While the project is in RPM Fusion the error seems to be in the
policycoreutils package itself. I tried building the latest version to see
if just a simple rebuild would fix it but it doesn't:

INFO: installing package(s): unifi-5.11.39-1.fc32.x86_64.rpm

use not only best candidate packages)
Error:

unifi-data-5.11.39-1.fc32.noarch.rpm

I'm not worried about the mongodb problem since Ijust install the upstream
CentOS package...
