Re: Updates push status - 20150725

2015-07-31 Thread Dennis Gilmore
Note the the issue was a silent abi change in the libraries around dnf. Had we
not hit the atomic issue we would have pushed out the changed abi and likely
broken updates on end users systems. It is a good thing that we hit it when and
how we did.

I guess no.

I am waiting for my updates to get for weeks and am already withholding
other followup updates.

Folks, please think about the implications this kind of unreliability
has on Fedora.

No. We continue to work on it.

The current issue is some more issues with the f22-updates-testing
atomic compose. A non announced abi break in a dependent package was
found and we were hopeful that would solve things, but it didn't.

The maintainer of rpm-ostree and bodhi have been working on it pretty
much non stop yesterday.

Hopefully we can get it solved today.

Nope. ;) Sorry for the confusion...

We _finally_ have the updates push that started last thursday going out
now.

We are going to enable bodhi for fedora 23 after that finishes, do a
f23-updates-testing push (should be very quick since it should only
have a few packages in it), and then fire off a new 21/22 push.

Hopefully tomorrow we can be back to normal.

Updates push status - 20150725

2015-07-25 Thread Kevin Fenzi
Just a heads up before anyone asks about updates flow:

I started a updates push thursday morning (20150723).
It ran into some xml issues, and we cleared bodhi's cache of xml
repodata and restarted things.

Friday (20150724), it hit a problem in the fedora22 updates-testing
atomic compose. We worked thru and fixed one, but there's still some
sort of issue preventing it from completing. ;(

So, we are (as always) working on getting things fixed up and pushed,
but if you are wondering why updates are not flowing as fast as normal,
that is why.
