Re: Xen support dead?
Another Xen-related bug that has continued through a number of releases has to do with the interaction between Xen and SELinux. The SELinux policy prevents xenstored from functioning. See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1720309. I am glad to see movement on BZ #1858364, and I am happy to provide any information necessary to fix this SELinux issue too. -- Mike :wq ___ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org

Sorry I didn't see this bug report until Neal pointed it to me. The problem was in the 20_linux_xen script as Marek mentioned. Could you please test the proposed fix in bugzilla? I don't have a Xen setup to test. Actually, the buggy file (/etc/grub.d/20_linux_xen) belongs to the grub2 package, so the bug is assigned to a wrong package. Not that it matters, but I'd originally assigned it to grub. It was ignored there as well. I switched it to Xen after I was told in #irc to do so. Too much pushing rocks uphill for my taste. Xen support dead?
Hm. Can't manage to get a fix, a reply, or interest. Is Xen packaging/support abandoned for Fedora? It's been reported/closed/ignored since, at least, F27 ~ 2017, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1515694 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1858364 , and still occurs in current F33. Not clear where the fix _needs_ to be -- grub2 &/or Xen pkgs. But sed workarounds are a non-starter for production. Can appropriate devs help get this addressed? If not, that's fine too -- but can we at least get a clear statement that Xen@Fedoras's not going to be maintained, so we can make other arrangements? ___ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org
