The easy way out is child ownership. The requirements only
apply to computers which are owned by schools and libraries.

Yes. Debian does most of the work, ubuntu polishes a subset of
packages, and then a much smaller subset of packages are software that

I'll list a grab bag of project ideas in this email. Some of these
are high priority, some are low, some have OLPC people working on
them, some do not. The list is certainly not complete! Please

A recent thread on the linux-kernel mailing list has given me some
insight on OLPC's problems interacting with external developers.

to avoid disappointment when OLPC will not commit to this platform

I'm trying to edge my way into the development community here.
Initially, I'd like to be able to update activity bundles. As a test
case I've been fiddling with the 'Asteroids' activity.
I'm trying to get to the point where I can create and commit a changed
bundle. I started down the path at

Hi Tomeu,
I am using fedora 7, and I don't want the sugar environment. I meant the
firefox browser which is there on the XO. I want to ensure that the browser
on my machine( i am developing an app with an embedded browser) is exactly
th same as the one on the XO.
Thanks!

Why instance? Only the data directory persists, so that would seem a
much more natural choice.

Hi,
I want to set up a linux machine with the exact browser which is on the XO.
I have the correct xulrunner version. What else do I need in order to
replicate the XO browser?
Thanks!
