The main problem with B2 is memory, not CPU speed. You can speed up your
B2 machine by using the swap as the missing memory:
* Plug a USB2 storage device
* mkswap the device (mkswap /dev/sda1)
* Activate the swap (swapon /dev/sda1)
Technically, you can update fstab for automatic swap. Practically
I played a bit with Psycho a few months ago, trying to speed up my B2
machine. I was not able to get a a measurable speedup, so I abandoned
my testings.

Actually, swap should have been a great solution for B2 machines with a
modern (i.e., 500) image. Theoretically, the additional swap memory
provided by an external usb2 storage device should allow a smoother
execution of memory hungry applications.
In practice, the additional swap did not help,
I have been collecting a few (more than a few) usability bugs and UI
suggestions, which will hopefully be compiled to a list next month.
In the meanwhile, I would like to share a couple of ideas regarding the
mapping of the gamepad keys [which I hope won't state the obvious too much].
